Race Reports for 5/19, 20 and Encouragement/Kudos!

Scoolover: Congrats on your race. Can't blame the goose for hissing at you. If I saw something with a green eerie glow come to close to my little ones, I'd chase you away too.

Dave: Great pics. I love their running skirts. Congratulations to DDs for such a great finish and high marks to you for letting your daughter finish ahead of you. I may have to remember that little "Friendly's Friendly's pancakes pancakes" chant at mile 22 of the marathon next year. I think it'd get me moving faster.

Jen117: Congrats to your DDs. Very nice of you to help the little girl. Sometimes your actions are such a better example than telling the other mother off. Congrats to you on your sub 3 hours, especially with all the issues you've had lately.

Sk8ingmom: Gorgeous pictures. Congrats on your tri. Glad you're hooked.

Matt: Great report. 7 1/2 hours of exercise. Yikes!! You did great.

Christa: Congrats on your fast time. You definately would have finished sub 24 without stopping to check on the other runner, but you made the world a nicer place by your actions.

Matt--Don't know what to say but WOW!!!!! And Congrats!!!:thumbsup2 :cheer2: :cheer2: What an accomplishment! Way to keep on moving!!!:cool1: :cool1: One of my running buddies is training for an full Ironman in November--I can't even imagine!

Dave

The pics of the girls stretching against the wall is too cute. Nice result on a long distance with such little legs.

Matt

70 miles? You have boldly gone where no man, or at least this one, has never gone before.

Jen

Good form getting under 3. And good for your girl making the distance.

Sk8ingmom

Your first picture with the mountains was totally unfair. I dream of living in the rockies again with scenery like that outside our home. What a great place for a "run" plus the rest.

Craig

Good Morning Everyone:

Thanks so much for your kind comments on my 5K with the princesses princess: princess:. We had a lot of fun.

Scott- great job on your race, but we need a picture of you in your WISH shirt.

Jen- Congratulations on your half marathon. I'm so very proud of you. Also, congrats to the kids for finishing their race - even if Emma was a little crabby (believe me I know how that goes). Finally, my hat's off to you for helping out the little girl that was crying. Uuugh, I couldn't imagine yelling at my princesses princess: princess: for something about their running. Finally, I love that picture of you and Kate finishing the race. That is very precious. Great job. Ice that PF.

sk8ingmom- Wow, your first race ever, and you do a TRI?!? You're awesome! That picture with the mountains is absolutely incredible. Cool finisher's shirt too. Don't be a stranger.

Matt- Where are the pictures of you with your smiling face? 70.3 miles, WOW!!! I'm so impressed. WTG on your awesome race. You da' MAN!

Dave - Glad you had a good time with the DD's in the race.

Matt - Excellent job on completing the ironman. You are continuing to set the bar higher for yourself and keep meeting the goals.

Jen - Great job on your half. Glad you had fun in it.

Sk8ingmom - Excellent job on your first tri. It looks like a beautiful course to do.

Christa - Good job on your race. That time is great.

Scott - Great job on your race. I agree we need pictures now.

sk8ingmom - Amazing!

Jen - congrats to you, Kate & Emma! :woohoo: Sub 3 hours - I am SO jealous!

Matt
- you are a machine! And you write some of the best race reports too. :cheer2:

Kristi - Oh yah baby - 1 minute sub 3! I was proud. When I exited the tunnel I looked at my Garmin and then said to myself "Don't let me down" and I ran it in! I was so proud. Since it was only my second 1/2 and I wasn't feeling that strong, I think that is pretty good!!!

Matt - Your race reports are the BOMB! I love reading then. I WISH we could see some of that blooper video, like when you took the digger coming out of the water!! CONGRATS!

Dave - I think it is so awesome that you did that 5K with your girls. Mine aren't ready for that yet, but one day I hope they will. For now, they love the kids races and so do I. I think the kids races are more fun than the regular races.

Dave -- your race report made me cry -- happy tears, of course, but how awesome for your daughters to have finished a race at their ages. And for DD6 to have accomplished it when others might have given up -- what an amazing thing for her to have done! I know you must have been bursting with pride. You are an awesome Dad. I wonder how much better so many of us would be, as people, if someone had that much faith in us at such a young age. Do me a favor? Ask DW to give you a huge hug from a very proud teammate of yours. I'd bet you never thought DLF could feel so darned good. :goodvibes

Jen -- you SPEED DEMON! Congrats!

Matt -- You are "da man"! 70.3!!! Holy cow -- I was sweating finishing my piddley little sprint tri! Great report -- Thanks!

Thanks for all the kudos!

I've been lurking for a while reading reports, so it was very cool to get to write my own!

Matt- Congrats on the 70.3! I loved your report.
When DH ran a 1/2 Ironman a few years ago, we referred to it as the "Aluminum Foil Guy". I made him a trophy & everything.

I really enjoyed everyone's report. Congrats to all who got up off the couch and raced this weekend. (She writes from her couch).

~M.
