21 - roselark (Jeanette) Madison Mini-marathon 5K

:jumping1: GO! WISH Team GO! :jumping1:

Wow! Almost an empty weekend!

I just signed up to do a bike event on Saturday - Tour de Valley in Arkansas. There are three courses - 28-mile ride, 40-miler and a 65-miler. I'm doing the 40-miler in preparation of my 100K ride next weekend.

As for Sunday - good luck with your race, Jeanette! :cheer2:

Good luck Jeannette! :cheer2:

Susie I did a 100k a couple of weeks ago with my DH. First it was going to be 50 miles...then I noticed there was no 50 mile-only 50k and 100k (and 100 miles, but I'm not THAT crazy!) So I agreed to do the 100k. It was challenging, but satisfying. The snacks and post-ride pizza, subs and other food definitely helped my outlook.

Hope your ride is great, too!

Maura

I did a s-l-o-w 28 mile ride vs. the 40 I had planned. I got some 24 hour bug the day before and I just wasn't up to riding much in the heat and humidity this morning. I hope I can still do the 100k next weekend.

Good luck Jeannette! :cheer2:

Maura - congrats on your 100k! I've done a couple of 50 mile rides this summer so in my mind I know that 62 is only 12 more miles but sometimes, that 12 extra miles can be hell! :teeth: Sounds like you had some good food after the ride. The ride I'm doing next week is one of the largest cycling events in the country - ~12,000 participants. Unfortunately, the food at the end reminds me of Disney - the usual bagels, oranges, bananas, gatorade, etc. I guess that's enough food but some of these events, like the one you mentioned, can really spoil you.
