Thanks to Jeff for taking a great pic of me and my DH (I'll try to post it later), and yes Jeff we did leave the park to shower right after you saw us I had to waste a bunch of time at Guest Relations getting a new ticket because I had carried it with me during the race and sweated it into an unreadable blob of paper.

Jen,

If you carry a ticket, use a Ziplock bag. Otherwise, put it in a drop bag for pick up after the race, along with a pair of slippers (flip flops) or Crocs.

Karen and I went back to shower, and then met up with the others in CA Adventure to take a team photo with Goofy at the Disney Visa meet and greet. Those who were still in their running gear were upset that Karen and I were fresh as daisies. Oh well, next time they should have walked back to the hotel with us first.

Karen and I had a glass of wine to celebrate the race, then picked up our team photos. We went back to the hotel, and headed to the Disney Character outlet in Fullerton, and had lunch.

Following that, we moved rooms to the Paradise Pier (I'm a DVC member). We all met back up at Disneyland that evening and stayed almost until closing.

The gang all left Monday morning, leaving me to explore Downtown Disney and Disneyland until 12 pm on my own. I flew home out of LAX at 2:30 pm, and arrived at 5 pm, with the three hour time difference.

Glad to have met you Jen & Bruce! See you at another race, and here on the boards.

I LOVE Disneyland! I do! :lovestruc I don't know if it's because WDW has become an annual pilgrimage for me while CA is one of those "once in a lifetime" things, or what, but I love the intimacy of the park -- the friendliness -- and I loved, loved, loved having my husband and kids with me for a change. What a different experience!

Very quickly, I'll admit I saw very few WISHers -- I didn't make any of the meets because I was always somewhere else with my family. (Very different from WDW where I am usually left with time on my hands.) I hope to see many more of you in January (like "normal").

Tracy did a great job describing the race, so I'll just say this... As usual, my goal was to take as many character photos as possible, so no PR for me -- though I finished faster than I did the inaugural year, I'm pretty sure. Our family happened to win a Dream FASTpass from the “Year of a Million Dreams” celebration while we were there (for every FASTpass attraction in *both* Disneyland and California Adventure – very cool!). Also, my 9-yr-old son was picked to go up on stage for a Jedi training show and he kicked Darth Maul’s butt in a light saber duel. Oh, and by sheer luck from our hotel room window we could see both the Disneyland fireworks and the California Adventure parades. Because there happened to be a Disney employees labor dispute protest the morning we left, we even got a free 4PM late checkout on Monday. Lots of blessings great and small all 'round.

The 5K and Half were a ton of fun, the medals were breath-taking, and I wish I could return every year. I think I actually prefer the WDW Half course -- not quite so much asphalt -- but I loved the attractions in both the CA parks.

So enough words -- Here's the eye candy!

Here it is, another Magical Marathon video (it's 31 minutes long).

Get your popcorn, beverage, a comfortable chair. Now sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

Be sure to click on the box in the lower right corner, next to the blue volume control, which will enlarge your viewing screen.

Jeff? Are you overly excited about the video?? You posted twice about it.:lmao:

Very nice, I'm still working on my slide show.

Tracy

Thanks for sharing your video Jeff! I actually watched the whole video. I just want to say you're an inspiration to me. I enjoyed reading your comments here as well as disneyrunning forum.

You're welcome. BTW, I grew up in Alameda, and my cousins used to live in San Jose.

Since everyone is having so much fun with the videos, I had to post my brothers work... You might have seen him zooming around on his bike trying to take photos of myself, DW, my sis, my sis's bf, and his wife all at the same time. :scared1:

I also must credit the "Becoming Ironman" series on youtube of which this is a blatant rip off of the first episode. But still fun! Highly recommend that series all you triathletes or dreamers out there.

Thanks for sharing Matt, tell your brother great video!

Matt, Yes - Tell your Brother that was a great video. At a level I don't think I'll get to.

I just redid mine, remembering to add my cousing and I stole (shhh) some pictures from Jeff.

Tracy

OK, mine is redone. I will eventually erase the other one.

Off to get mycar's oil changed.

Are you still out sick Chatty Tracy? Or has the coughing passed? :wizard:

Hijacked my photos did you young Padawan? Good thing you're my personal assistant. :thumbsup2

Cruella, no beer and ice cream violates the WISH racing team's carb loading policy. :lmao:

WDW in January has a tiny opening in the window of opportunity. My family gave me the go ahead. My friend who works for an airline will attempt to get me there on standyby, as long as I'm flexible with my dates. His price is way better than anything online.

Here's everything on my plate right now as far as travel in 2008, 2009, and 2010. I need to hit the lottery or Publishers Clearinghouse sweepstakes, FAST!:rotfl2:

December 08/January 09, already planned trip to Maui with the family.

January 09 WDW marathon with Mushu. I'm waiting for her to make the final decision.

April 09 Augusta for the Masters, already planned

September 09 Disneyland Half marathon

December 09/January 2010 WDW, Disney Wonder, Goofy and a Half Challenge, in the planning stages

I guess I have to skip doing all the 5K's, 10K's, other half marathons, and the Honolulu marathon. Race fees are starting to be like gasoline, out of this world! :lmao: Or maybe just bandit the races  .

Chatty Tracy is still living and breathing as we speak, or at less I think I am.
I know I was feeling the force when I swiped your photos. Coughing isn't as bad and its loose so that's helpful. Maybe it was the weird air in CA or the plane ride or a combo, not sure which that caused all the mayhem.

aaahuh??... you are feeling the Jan WDW force and are leaning ever so slightly in that direction I see..... Hoping it all works out for you. I am now leaning toward doing the Princess Half- wasn't going to do it before, but now??? I think I just might. Traveling isn't such a problem for me, so just hotel and food.

I think you need to skip the additional HI trips, you live there after all. (Guess you could say that about places in the state of FL for me, but none of them are like WDW afterall!!
