Emily I hope you had a fantastic race.

Steve Jennifer Good luck for tomorrow.

Word has it I might be back in FL on business again and am thus sneaking off to do the Double Bridge Run (15k) in Pensacola tomorrow. Depending on the results and how I feel, might even be delusional enough to go invade Tallahassee with syko the next day and do the half mary. We shall see!

Pensacola Double Bridge Run

Old 10k PR: 51:13
New 10k PR: 49:59 woooo sub 50!

Old 15k PR: 1:20:51
New 15k PR: 1:14:51 - 8:04mpm

Splits: 8:02, 7:54, 8:05, 8:02, 8:05, 8:06, 8:05, 8:20, 7:48, 2:21 (.34 at 6:56 pace)

Going to have to caveat this one with the fact that this race was designed to PR. Extremely fast course, and today we had a 15mph tailwind for almost the entire thing. But I'll still do a little dance for a pair of PRs. Simply gorgeous course, check out the map:

Pretty rare for me to PR a shorter distance on the way to PRing a longer distance... Makes me wonder how low I could get a standalone 10k under the right conditions. Also makes me think if I'd kept jogging for another 3.8 miles I might have PR'd for a half marathon also...

Now to ponder the 2.5 hour drive each way to Tallahassee for a half marathon tomorrow... hmm....

Matt, It must be new PR weekend.

I wasn't expecting much. I've been too marathon focused since October, but I got a new PR. Sub-47, next stop sub-45.

Good race, great company. Finally got my confidence back. Official time 46:55. Age group win, 4th female.

Best,
Jennifer

:cheer2: GO WISHers!!! :cheer2:

Congrats to everyone who has already race and I apologize for being late.

Syko I may have to do the Tallahassee one day as I have friends who live there and easy for me to get a place to stay.

Congrats to Matt and Jennifer on your PRs :)

congrats, matt and jennifer!

i must've put down the wrong date. my 5k was yesterday. this race was my first to actually run (i walked one with my DD in december).

it rained the day/night before. the ground was soaked already, so we had lots of puddles. some of those covered the entire road. so, that slowed everyone down trying to get around them. at one point, the line around was so long, that i just ran through the middle of the puddle. it also rained most of the race.

it was still a fun experience. they were very low tech. "go" was the start time for everyone, whether you crossed the start line then or 30 seconds later! and, they wrote your number down as you crossed the finish. so, their time for me was 30:39, but dh has my picture crossing at 30:30. and my nike plus had me just under 30 minutes, but i hit that AS i crossed the start. so, i know that i did it in less than 30, which was my goal.

Emily Congrats for meeting your goal and making it through a soggy race!

Matt, the machine Congrats on 2 PR. You're really getting faster!

Jennifer Speed Queen. Your HS team has a great role model. WTG.

I won the female wheelchair........but I was the only one!!!!! I was secound over all by 2 mins. My electrolyte tube was not working, so no juice for 26.2 miles. Very cold, but only frost bite in my toes.

It was a very small race on 300 entered in the full marathon, very flat, if your a runner I would reccommend it if you want to BQ.:thumbsup2

It's not so great for chairs, the cycle escort could not keep up, I over took him 3 times, and I was only going 17mph, because he was behind he forgot te tell me to turn and I missed the turning, the only way for me to get back on course was to go out in to the traffic!!!:sad2:
The escort only stayed with us to the half marathon turn around point, then two police bikes took over, they where ment to stop at all the road juctions to stop the traffic, but they went off and left us to face the traffic.:scared: I had to do a stop at one road. The other chair said that he was almost hit last year.

I got given a plate and medal.:thumbsup2
I don't know about next year, if I have fed wheels I will probably do the race in melbourne, if not I'll go back to Tallahsees.
