Hi BouncelikeTigger!

Good luck in the ToT Race!!! :cheer2:

For future races you can let BigVic know the date/location/race name on this thread...

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2032237

It kinda bounces (much like Tigger! :tigger: ) so if you don't see that thread you can also find a link to it by going to the "Welcome to the WISH Team" which is a sticky thread at the top of the Events sub-forum. It's a bit down, maybe a 1/4 way down?

Be sure to check it out, you never know if another team member might be doing your race! It's not limited to Disney races. You might find someone doing a 5K at your local Zoo or say Jeff who I just noticed is doing another Triathalon at the end of this month in Hawaii! So don't be shy drop a post on Vic's Calender thread then you might want to give a shout out to others if you are doing a race other members are signed up for. Chris and I have done a Turkey Trot. It was freezing and we were bundled up so it came down to which hat are you wearing and jacket color to find each other in the frozen crowd.

Don't be shy!!! And with Disney races be sure to see if there are meets beyond the race start. And after there usually is a location they might gather after the finishline.

Have fun this weekend!!!! And say Hi! They typically don't bite.

WHO?:confused3

And I bite, only upon request. :rotfl2:

Oh man, don't do that to me! I saw that Confused look and thought what did I do? Do I have poor Jeff doing a tri when he's not signed up for one? Was I seeing things earlier today? UGH!

So off I had to go and hunt up Vic's 2009-2010 calender thread to confirm...

Jeff..>"just added the Halloween Triathlon in Honolulu, 10/31/09."

Perhaps i should have said although not all of us have completed a Goofy we still are all a wee bit Goofy (SOME more than others Jeff)

BTW... I hope that Halloween Tri is fun! Looking forward to hearing if it was themed (ie: shirts/medal).

Race well WISH team and special shout out to TOTers! I'll be with you in sprit- whhooooo (ghosty noise!)

Just popping in to wish everyone good luck on their races this weekend! Go WISH!!

Good Luck Everyone!!!

I had to back out of ToT due to my DD's gymnastics schedule, but I hope everyone has a great race tonight!!!

Mini race report
Lake Caroline 15k 1hr 13 min 44th out of 250 overall; 2nd age group (age group first was overall female 2nd by less than 30 seconds so there was no question she deserved it)

Did it as a tempo-type run trying to simulate marathon pace (I wanted to take it easy as I have a half-marathon next Saturday) and lost 30 seconds to tying shoe (when your in the top quarter especially those seconds count)

I participated in the Soaring Wings Half Marathon in Conway, AR yesterday. The temperature at the start was around 42 degrees and ended up in the mid-60's when I finished - 3.5 hours later. :teeth:

This course had some hills although not as much as my last week's half - San Francisco. I could definitely feel some soreness in my quads and hamstrings throughout a lot of the race. I walked with some friends for about 10 miles. We were averaging a 17 minute pace at that point. I decided to kick it up a notch and finish the last three miles on my own. I was tired but I was able to go down to a 15 minute pace (still walking) so I was quite pleased.

This is a small race - capped at 1,000 participants. There were water/gatorade stops every 1.5 miles and lots of food at the finish - hamburgers/cheeseburgers, pizza, chips, candy soft drinks, water, gatorade - LOTS of food. The volunteer support was outstanding. Truly, a great, well-organized small race. I look forward to doing this again next year.

Oh, and by the way, my DH Steve, received the Grand Masters Award walking award - 50-59. :yay: (There were several race walkers in his division that received overall awards and since no one could receive two awards, Steve was able to get one. )

Congrats Susie and Steve!!! Sounds like a fun race. I am going to have to look into this one. Is there a time limit/pace requirement?

Congrats again!

Thanks, Susan! There is a 4 hour time limit but there were several that finished around 4:19 and they were still able to get the medals. Very friendly race. Let me know next year if you are seriously thinking about it. Here's the Website for this year's race: www.swhalf.com

I'll post a complete review of the Niagara International Marathon tomorrow (both the race and my reflections on myself and what I learned) but I finished and can now say I am a marathon finisher :cool1:. Chip time was 3:44:55. Can't wait to get that 26.2 sticker on the car.

Congratulations to all of you who ran the Tot or whichever race was on your docket this weekend.
