Good luck guys. I'm doing two local 5Ks on Saturday, one in the morning and one in the evening. I look at it as a 10K with an intermission.

I like that! My husband is doing a 5K on Sunday and I am doing the family fun run with the kids. :)

I'm running the Magnuson Park Race Series 15k on Sunday. But since my training calls for 12 miles (I'm running the Seattle Rock & Roll on 6/25) I'm going to do an extra 3 miles! Can't wait!

Have you done any of the other Magnuson Park Series races? We've run a few of them in the past, and it's always a fun group of people. We ran a few during their first year, and I had a few DLFs with that group.... lol. But that was back in the day where the field for the 10K was often fewer than 20 people. :rotfl2: Also, back in those days, the 10K was 4 laps around the park, but they changed the route so that one loop is 5K, so it's a little better, now. :rotfl:

Have fun getting your 12 miles in!

I just discovered this race series in January and have been doing them every month (except April since I was chaperoning a Disneyland Band trip). I've done all 3 distances (5K, 10K and 15K + an extra 3 miles). It is the same 5K loop for all runs. I like this one because it's nice and small and very easy going. I've encouraged my family to do this run because it's low key. Last Sunday there were 88 runners in the 5K, 38 in the 10K and 14 for the 15K. I came in 4th in the 15K with a time of 1:19:58. Not too bad I think!:cool1:

I'll keep doing them because it's nice to break up my solo training running.
I'm also thinking of doing the Seafair run. Have you ever done that one?

Good luck, everyone, and especially Steven on your first full!!

Thanks! It's too bad I couldn't update Vic any sooner, but I had to sit this out under doctor's order. I just got his approval to train for the DL 1/2 but I have to start from the very beginning, and he doesn't like the idea of me running that distance in 11 weeks of preparation. I'll keep a better eye on my training as I hope to run the Honolulu full in December. I'll know for sure by October.

I still claimed my bib and grab a bunch of free schwag. I tacked my unused bib in my cubicle for further motivation.

edit: I volunteered to hand out water through my company. It was great to help out, but I would have much preferred to run it.
