I mentioned in a previous report that this year I was asked to help get 4 people across the finish line in their first full marathon. My mom age 69, my dad age 70, my aunt age 67 and my sister (I only give their ages because I am proud that at their ages they were attempting their first full marathon). I won't give all the details but 2 of the 4 made it across the finish line. My aunt with a time of 6:28 and my mom with a time of 6:41. My dad unfortunately was caught by the sweepers at mile 21. He was a good bit behind us because he fell back to help my sister who was really struggling. He got her to the half marathon mark where she decided to call it a day. Unfortunately for him he lost too much time with her and the balloon ladies caught him at 21. So proud of them all though!!
I would like to send out a big THANKS to all the WISH scream teamers on Sunday. The support was awsome and the ice cold towel outside AK was a blessing!!!! I think we need to all tell RD how much those folks mean to us on the course!!
