Running the princess half and had no worries until I started reading this board. Just found it yesterday.
I am assuming they have busses from the Disney hotels to start area. Am I right? How about bus back to hotel? Can spectators use bus also? Do spectators need to pay to get into park to just watch?

I am sure I will have more questions as it gets closer.

TIA

Buses run from/to the host hotels only. Here's a link to that info....

Here's some spectator info from the RunDisney site:

Magic Kingdom® Park
Spectators will be able to see their runner run through the Magic Kingdom® Theme Park near Cinderella's Castle (Mile 5.3 for the Half Marathon). This location will be open at 5:30 a.m. You do not need a ticket to enter the Magic Kingdom® Theme Park.

Other WALT DISNEY WORLD® Theme Parks
If you want to watch your runner in another WALT DISNEY WORLD® Theme Park, you will need to purchase a Theme Park ticket once that park is open for the day. Transportation to these parks is available through the monorail and bus system at the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort.

Here's the link to the spectator info page.

Hope this helps/

If you are not staying at one of the official host hotels, then there are no buses. We are DVC members so we are never at one of the host hotels. Hubby rents a car for the weekend and driving to the start hasn't been an issue for either of the past 2 years.

In addition, since we drive, I get to sleep an extra 15 minutes in the morning and don't need to wait in line for a bus after the race- last weekend I had to stand in line for over 1/2 hour waiting for buses to take me back to the resort after the Disney Half.

For spectating, here is my suggestion (it's what hubby does for Princess and what I do for hubby in Janaury)

Come with you to Epcot but as soon as you head to the start, they hop on the monorail and head for the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC) When they get to TTC, depending in your pace, they may have enough time to walk over to the Polynisian to grab a quick breakfast then come back to TTC to watch and cheer. Once you have passed TTC they can either walk over to the Ployniesian then out to Floridian Way, or ride the monorail to Grand Floridian to watch you on Floridian Way. Once you pass then here, they hop back on the monorail to TTC, then transfer to the Epcot monorail to watch you finish.

Depending on your pace, this is a very doable way to see you in several places. I don't recommend that they try to watch the start because it's dark and the spectator viewing area is on the other side of a divided roadway and thus the chances of you seeing them or they seeing you is pretty slim IMHO.
