Race car noise at Polynesian?

I will be staying at the Polynesian for the first time and I was wondering if the noise from the Richard Petty race track is present or disturbing to guests at the Poly since both are in such close proximity.

Has anyone here had any experience with this good or bad?

Stayed there last summer for 8 nights and never once noticed any noise from the track. Of course, we were in Tokelau which may have been the reason. Request one of the interior longhouses and noise shouldn't be a problem. Have to say that even when we were waiting for the bus I didn't hear any of the race track noise.

We have stayed there several times, usually near the Lagoon/Volcano Pool and we have never heard it.

We were in Tahiti and didn't hear it but for us it's a good sound. I even gave Rick the racing experience for his birthday that trip (I did it too).

We usually stay at the Poly and I didn't even know it was nearby - so I guess I didn't hear it! Where is it?

We've stayed at the Polynesian many, many times and have yet to hear it. We are often in Rapa Nui which is supposed to be effected by it according to one guidebook. We have always had rooms on the garden side not parking lot side but do use our car a lot and again...never one sound. For us, that would not be a good sound.

I wouldn't worry about it.

When we stayed there, I remember hearing the cars but I believe it may have been when we were walking to the Ticket & Transportation Center. It wasn't really loud though. Didn't hear it in our room or when we were on the balcony.

The only time I've ever heard the racecars at RPE was playing golf at the Palm course across the road from the Poly. It only sounded like one car, and it didn't seem to last that long or like the car was going all that fast (not deafening like Nascar). I'm pretty sure it was on a Saturday, do they do the RPE thing any other days? I'm actually dying to try RPE, but I'm sure DW will have fits if I do.

I should have been more clear when I said "cars". Like Grumpy37, heard just 1 car, not like what you would hear at a NASCAR race! Sorry!
