I wonder why they keep those chairs at the Boardwalks fireplace if so many people get creeped out by them. But I guess any press is good press, right? What, no swimming in December for ya? I must admit that when Bean and I swam I was happy we only stayed in as long as we did.
My guess is that some decorator liked them... cute size and shape and whimsical but didn't pay attention to the creepy expressions...
HA... You are from the Pacific Northwest... so you are probably used to colder water... (I know the water from San Francisco to at least Monterey is pretty nippy... by Santa Barbara it seems to warm up...Not a big fan of zee cold water... David has been swimming on a team so he's probably the hardiest in terms of water temps...
It is odd about the July thing as you would think that Oregon would be cooler, and that is kind of the case in the north. But where we live it gets into the 105-110 degree range for weeks at a time in July/August. We just dont have to deal with all of that humidity coupled with it. Try out Texas sometime in August; it is the worst combo of it even worse than Jersey or the south lol.
Seriously... 105-110?
but then we get into the high 90s WITH Humidity... it's like a swamp... Em met a girl from Berkley in a program she was in several years ago and this poor girl was dying from our combo of heat humidity and mosquitos... (actually I think the reason the Founding Fathers probably finally agreed to sign the Declaration is because they were desperate to avoid a full Philadelphia summer...
It sounds like we have the same opinion about Fantasmic! maybe someday theyll build a more cohesive production.
Yes... It's not bad... it's just not really Disney's best...
Love the squinty eyes and well-grasped coffee in front of the AK sign. Go Eric with his scheming for getting those EE FPs! We lucked out with Roxy using the
ECV, we would just send her roaring to the attraction in question while we sat back and enjoyed the park.
LOL... EVC as a weapon/resource of procuring FPs... I love it...
I hope you got that Canon S110
or for around $100 more you can get the Rebel T3 with an 18-55mm lens. It is bulkier but it has so many more options including adding more lenses and the pictures (and videos) it takes are amazing
I did get the Canon and if I manage to get its extra features down... maybe I'll eventually move up...
Starting your day on Kali??? You are a brave soul. Great shots of all of you on the ride love the BBQ chicken quip, what are they serving?? Sorry you got the worst of the water, but you still got off easier than me and my girls did on our first Universal day
Well in theory... if it had been warmer starting on Kali would have made sense...You never really expect to get wet and yes you really got zonked at Universal... I thinking that might actually feel kind of refreshing in July... David I think has a dramatic streak... their food is conservative & fairly healthy...
... (I did check on it after he made that comment... funny though it may have been... it did raise some questions...
Nice shots on the Pangani Forest Trails. We skipped the walk this time due to both girls being sick but did walk them on our April trip. Those bats are HUGE arent they? Cute pic of the sleeping tiger.
LOVE that trail... the bats are enormous and pretty cool and the Tigers are really incredible animals...
I agree on no Avatar Land, just doesnt seem right. Fun shots at the EE area, glad you survived. I laughed out loud when you called the gift shop the dump shop!!!
Oh I know I'd so love another land... another continent maybe... Australia or something else but surely not Avatar Land... Heaven help us all...
Great shot with Santa Goofy, although I think David was already thinking about Primeval Whirl. I actually agree with Eric on spinning rides. I took one for the team and rode it with Bean when we came back to AK for our daddy/daughter day but I havent been on the teacups since 1976!
I'm sure he was... he's not too patient with the photos after a certain point... It seems like a lot of guys have spinning issues... no probs with the coasters... but the spinning...not so much...
David did look pretty nervous in the line for Dinosaur. Glad he came off liking it
He was a trooper ... and I know his limits ...I only nudged a little ...(it kind of freaks me out when I see parents dragging crying/really upset kids on rides...
) Now he can't wait to do it again...
As for your posting poll I tend to try and post two to three times a week at a minimum. But as you may have seen Ive gone a bit posting crazy of late. Part of that for me is driven by me wanting to get the story finished so I can show her all of the pictures from the trip. She really wants to see them all despite me being past the 1,500 pic mark with 2 ½ days worth of pics to go.
Yes... and I think when you get on a writing mojo it's easier to keep it going at that pace... it can actually be harder to update when you've waited a bit... I think ideally about 3x every two weeks would be about right for me...
Keeping up on other peoples TRs is where Im really failing right now. I need to do what you are doing and commit to a half hour to an hour a day to keep caught up on the dozen or so TRs I am following. And Im usually really active on FB but have pretty much dropped off the map there of late. I seem to be only able to keep one online social outlet functional at a time and right now the DISBoards are it.
Yes... it's really hard to balance all of the different social media outlets at one time... and writing a TR really takes some time and thought... and photo management...
Back to your TR love the pic you captured of the boats near the bridge much better than mine. Love the colors and the reflection on the water. I love your thoughts on the Theming of Yak & Yeti. We have had their food on the TS side but have not made ADRs for there yet. Your comments and pictures have convinced me to make the time on our next trip.
Oh do try the TS at Yak and Yeti at least once and see what you think of it...
Thank you also on the info on the Dawa bar, I had never noticed it at all. Looks like some good stuff to make all of that walking much more bearable
Yes... great people watching and good drinks... I imagine you'd need to use caution especially in the summer...
Great shot of David holding the Stitch present on the way out!
