Rabbit, Hatter & Chessie Go Rogue in Christmasland.New5/11 Meet my Nemesis, Splash M.

Unique places like that make going out to eat worthwhile. I don't like fast food/chain restaurants at all and much prefer something with some character. Gasthauses were very cool, you could get off the train in random little bergs in Germany and head to it. Have a great meal, good drinks and company, and a reasonably-priced place to sleep.

Hmmm... sounds good... I wouldn't mind a trip to Germany someday:scratchin... the actual one...not the WS... although I think that Germany is cute...;)

Yes, a plethora of nation's cuisines to choose from! And Bean and I did take that ferry at the end of our EPCOT day to get to DHS so I know how convenient it is :goodvibes

There's something extra nice about that water transporation...:goodvibes

Yeah, not one that lends itself to single rider very well. It is still one of my favorite themed rides at DHS.

No because of the way you sit... more fun to go with someone... plus there's time in between the action... unlike RnRC where you're just moving fast the entire time... no socializing time...

I hadn't thought of the fams with little kids looking for something entertaining, that explains a lot. By the time TSM came out my girls were already getting older and finding different things to catch their interest.

I think it's also "relatively new" plus human nature dictates that where everyone else is going must be good... but I do think it's probably a godsend for parents with little ones... that & Playhouse Disney...

I love me some good carrot cake so I'll have to try that cookie for sure! :thumbsup2

Def... me too...::yes::

Yes, we are interesting creatures for sure and 'the grass is always greener' is one of our major achilles heels.

Yes I know that I am fortunate in so many ways and yet sometimes I'll find myself checking out what the other guy/gal nextdoor has... It's important to just be aware and give yourself a reality check at times...::yes::

Yup, gotta get back there and do it next time. And do it around 5pm so I can get pics with the unique characters at the character spot - forgot to do that too. Bo seems to be pretty well-loved, lucky guy.

LOL... that he is...

Glad to hear it, it was a good one for us too :)

Really enjoyed the Studios this time...:thumbsup2

We love Phineas & Ferb, we spend a huge amout of our TV time watching Disney Channel and those lovely creative boys.

I wish they were really boys...:)

In my mind I can hear you say, Let's Adopt Them! Like Mrs. Potato Head says about the little green men in Toy Story 2. My mind often does this to me.

Yes exactly...:lmao:

I must confess, I have never been in the Writer's Shop at DHS. I need to visit this establishment.

Yes...::yes::

Love the Muppets, I use to watch Muppet Babies cartoon. I really love them. I am also a cartoon fan. Just a big Kid!

The Muppets are really pretty clever... I do wish they made some specials for tv again...

I have always wanted to have the talent of drawing, singing, and dancing but alas I have very little of these talents but often pretend that I do. ;)

I believe that everyone has talent... they just have to find it... and nurture it...:goodvibes

I agree about TSM, it is just so overwhelmed with guests. I really hope that they add something to DHS to lighten up the load.

If they do build Carsland...I imagine that would help a great deal...

Thanks for the update!

:goodvibes

:goodvibes

I am FINALLY here!!! :cool1: I have been a little MIA on the dis lately and trying to get caught up!

Hey Erika :wave2::welcome:

Wow, you did a lot that first day with getting up so early!! I am just exhausted thinking about it. I always have good intentions to do that much but never make it til the end.

It is hard to not overplan... but I'm working on it...

I bet that family was happy to get your CP tickets. I was able to share one of ours and made a lady happy. Hope to start my report today so you will see why I had one extra. :confused3 I could not believe how early people lined up without a ticket. We were at the fist show and they only let about 10 people from the stand by line in. Such a waste of time.

I just started your TR...:goodvibes... that's awful about only taking 10 people from the stand by...I bought the CP pkg because yes I did want the seating benefit but I also wanted to have dinner at the restaurant as well... they shouldn't sell so many that only 10 stand bys have a chance to get in... that just seems wrong to me...:confused3

I hit post too soon.

:worship:I am in awe that you rode RnR. I still haven't got brave enough yet. We are heading to CA this year if all goes well so maybe I will try Screamin first then RnR.

LOL... It's ok welcome to my world...;) Good plan... :thumbsup2 You should go for it...

Great update, Patricia.

Love the photos with Phinesas & Ferb (did I spell that right? I have no idea who they are unless I see the pictures as I've never see the show since no little ones anymore).

pretty close... and you know maybe sometime in the next... say 5 years you may have some little ones to watch some Disney Junior with...;)

I'm so glad you went to Animation and did the character drawing...I do love this.

It's great fun...I'm surprised more people don't find their way there...

Did you end up getting your drink at 50's? Or did you find the "Christmas drinks" over closer to the Osborne Lights?

We did get our drinks at the lounge attached to 50s... they were really good and even had glow cubes which was fun at night...:goodvibes

Hey!! I'm here and I'm getting caught up and following along for the rest!

:wave2: Glad to have you along...:goodvibes

We have yet to check out Writer's Stop. We should really stop in there one of these trips! I finally went into Starring Rolls on my October trip.

The boys love TSM! It's a must-do for us on every trip. We don't often go through the stand-by queue but it is one of the best.

Can't wait to see your pictures of the Osborne Lights!! Absolutely loved them when we saw them last year!!

Love this fountain... (Wish the muppets were on more now...)
Me too! I would love to see a new Muppet Show. Or even reruns of the old one.

Now is it me or am I the only one that feels the death ray glances from some of the people in the Stand by line when you're using your Fastpasses? (I mean everyone can use fastpasses... you just have to know/think to get them... unless your off to a late start)
It's not just you, I always noticed the same thing. I notice it with all rides a little, but I think it's worse on TSM. And you're right, anyone can use them! It's not like Universal's system where you have to pay for it. :confused3

I did the Animation Academy for the first time this past trip and it was so fun! I love to draw, but I was really terrible at doing it their way. :rotfl:

Break at the Boardwalk... Cupcakes & Chairs...

I have been incredibly frustrated with my computer this weekend ... It think it is possessed and may need an exorcism ... :badpc: I have had a hard time updating and reading ... but hopefully it has been taken care of ... :badpc:

So riding the Ferry back from The Studios to the Beach Club; David was dying to swim...72 is bit cold for me... but he thought it was great & Eric agreed to take him...while I was planning on a nice extra bubbley, bubble bath...lol..., we decided to get off at the Swan and Dolphin because from there it is only a hop skip and a jump to here...

IMG_0796.jpg

The Boardwalk...

I love the Boardwalk... it's a great little place to stroll, great restaurants and bakery...and at night it's just to die for with the lights... it has its own kind of magic...

We did a have a little business here ... I wanted to just check that I liked the Boardwalk Inn/Villas as much as I remembered... since the plan was to stay here during our July trip..., I also wanted to grab a snack and do some more cupcake research and I wanted to have a Dis meet with some infamous inanimate objects in the Boardwalk's Lobby...

I do love the Boardwalk's theming, if the Beach Club is kind of going for a pretty, understated Nantuckety summer resort, the Boardwalk is a little glitzier, whimsical representation of the Atlantic City of the turn of the century and first several decades of the 20th century...Apparently I didn't get many photos of this lovely resort but I do have a photo of this t-shirt

Some Holiday Decorations...

IMG_0797.jpg

While we were here... I was curious... I had read in Mary Ellen's (MEK Disname- who also has fabulous photos of the Boardwalk lobby) trip report about these sweet little chairs over by the fireplace in the lobby and I was really curious to um...meet...or shall we say see them-Todd and Paul;)...

Now while they were there, unfortunately for me, (not for her) there was a Bride having her photos shot right in front of the fireplace.... Blast it honey... Don't you know I'm here to meet......

IMG_0801.jpg

I didn't want to get in much closer... since I didn't want to ruin the Wedding photog's mojo....

IMG_0799.jpg

And let me confirm... they really are that creepy... the concept of the little chairs are cute but the execution...They are oddly of of place... like they snuck in... CREEPY...this is the stuff bad dreams are made up of....

IMG_0798.jpg

Curiosity sated... it was off to find that snack...

IMG_0809.jpg

The boys stopped in at the candy shop... but I headed over to the Bakery so I could scope out the case... hmmm I really wanted to try two... and I definitely wanted the Strawberry...even though strawberries aren't in season at home... I assume they are in Florida... in the name of research... I wanted to try another...but I couldn't eat two so I had to get Eric's buy in and he agreed and got the much more seasonal Peppermint....

IMG_0808.jpg

IMG_0810.jpg

Both were tasty but I have to say that the Strawberry was the winner for both of us... really fresh light vanilla cake... strawberry filling, nice light whipped cream like icing... definite winner....

It was now time to head back for that swim and bath before heading back for the Studios, Fantasmic & Osbourne Lights...

Just a couple of swimming photos... more later on...

Next up: Osbourne Lights and Fantasmic...

We have yet to check out Writer's Stop. We should really stop in there one of these trips! I finally went into Starring Rolls on my October trip.

It's cute... I'd love to see even more of a book selection ... the coffee is pretty good which would make it a must stop for me regardless...:thumbsup2

The boys love TSM! It's a must-do for us on every trip. We don't often go through the stand-by queue but it is one of the best.

It's really full of fun... aesthetically adorable...

Can't wait to see your pictures of the Osborne Lights!! Absolutely loved them when we saw them last year!!

They're coming soon if my computer will cooperate... it's been quite bad...:badpc:

Me too! I would love to see a new Muppet Show. Or even reruns of the old one.

Yes please...::yes::

It's not just you, I always noticed the same thing. I notice it with all rides a little, but I think it's worse on TSM. And you're right, anyone can use them! It's not like Universal's system where you have to pay for it. :confused3

Yes it really is true... I'm always turn between feeling I should be sorry and thinking "hey, get up earlier and get your fast passes..."...:rolleyes1

I did the Animation Academy for the first time this past trip and it was so fun! I love to draw, but I was really terrible at doing it their way. :rotfl:

LOL... I've done it several times... it does get easier when you realize how they do it... So much fun...:thumbsup2

If it is not too hot, it is actually a very pleasant walk to the Boardwalk from DHS. I think Katharina and I took the boat only once - and once from Epcot back. The aspect of just being able to go and not wait for some form of transport is one of the reasons why I love the Boardwalk. I don't care for the monorail, but walking is gold in my opinion!

I think in all the 10 days we stayed at BWV we only bought something from the Bakery once - on our very last day. And it was just sandwiches. No cakes... Don't ask me why. Your's look very nice, but the strawberry one has a little bit of an unnatural pinkish flavour...

So the bride was having her pictures taken with Todd and Paul in the room? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I guess you really couldn't go over and check their names tags. :rotfl2:

LOVE THE BOARDWALK! Are you definitely staying there in July? I can't wait until the 7 month window opens up so I can waitlist there for October. :thumbsup2

I love your comparison of the Boardwalk and the Beach Club. I actually think I am going to waitlist at the Beach Club too because Denny has never stayed there.

I love the BWI! Those chairs really are creepy! Can you imagine being the one to make them :scared1: 72 degrees is a bit chilly for me too, but your son seemed to enjoy his time in the pool!

Love your pictures from the Boardwalk. Had hoped to take Tom over there but then it didn't happen when he got sick. Jeremy and I stayed there last year on our mother/son trip and loved the Christmas decorations. However, I never noticed those chairs. Very Creepy!!!

Oooh, those cupcakes look delicious.

Besides the clown pool, those chairs are the reason I never wanted to stay at the Boardwalk. And guess what I did today? I booked the Boardwalk Villas for our December trip. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I'll just be srue NOT to look at the chairs and not to go near the pool. ;)

You got a lot closer at the Boardwalk Bakery than we did...we could hardly walk in the door. Those cupcakes look so yummy...I could go for one right about now.

Fun pics of David swimming. Hope you had a nice bubble bath while the boys were at the pool.

YAY for the Boardwalk, creepy chairs and all. Home sweet home! I almost bought that T shirt, still kind of wish I would have. Are you booked for your July trip? I can't wait to book for NYE....15 days! Unless I walk the ressie and then it's 14 days :rotfl2:

Cupcakes look yummy, I didn't buy anything at the bakery last trip so pretty positive I need to fix that next year.

Okay, thanks for that...now I have to make a side trip to see those creepy chairs! But if I can sneak in a Boardwalk Bakery cupcake, I guess it would be worth it. I seriously think my whole dining experience next trip is going to be cupcakes! I tried twice now to make it to Starring Rolls for the Red Velvet one and haven't made it yet. And now you have to add that strawberry one (although the oreo bon bon one looks yummilicious) also.

I love the Boardwalk, I really have to stay there someday! Ugh, that chair is SO creepy, I remember seeing it when we visited there last year, scary! :rotfl2:

Yum, those cupcakes look SO good! I'm so annoyed with myself that I didn't get one of the seasonal cupcakes when I was there, I love anything mint flavored! Although the strawberry one looks good too! :cool1:

Next up: Osbourne Lights and Fantasmic...

I love this picture! So glad you had good swimming weather. I never swam last December, but I certainly hit the hot tub.

You DID get a picture of Todd and Paul. You sneaky photographer, you!

Those chairs are SO creepy!!! I can safely say that I will be staying FAR away from them when taking my bridal portraits! :rotfl:

Tomorrow I have to make ADRs for our July trip...:faint:

We are going to be driving to Disney for the first time ever (and going to Universal as well)...We haven't done this before so it should be interesting... Since we are driving... I thought we should see some things along the way... So...we are going to be doing a trip that looks something like this...

3 nights in Charleston... (we'll probably get there at dinner 1st day/night)
2 nights Universal... (we'll get there late lunch time)
4 nights at Disney...
2 night in Savannah... again probably get there lunch time... although there are family rumblings of going to a water park that morning so it's possible we may not get there till evening...

Charleston/Savannah are no where near to being half way from Philadelphia... that would be somewhere near the Raleigh, Durham Triangle in North Carolina... but I really want some time in/around Charleston/Savannah so that's why those are the stops...

So as for the Disney portion... & my ADRs...

What I'm going for ...

-A Breakfast at Crystal Palace... WE have never done this and I think it's time...(Some of you may recall my bizarre aversion to the life size Piglet... but I've have a change of heart...)

- a last day breakfast at Boma before we leave...

- a Sanaa lunch

- a family dinner at Yachtsman

- a surprise for Eric... Dinner with an Imagineer at Flying Fish or a Lunch with an Imagineer at Hollywood Brown Derby ... I think I'll have Ems take David to Sci Fi during this...

-I'm toying ... and have to do so quickly with the idea of a Le Cellier Lunch or Rose & Crown ... Eric isn't that excited about Le Cellier... but I sort of fell we should try it once... I just wish that they weren't changing the Lunch Menu... hoping to see the new menu today...

(Also want to try the Wine Cellar in Italy... Tutto Gusto... have heard really good things & back to Kimonos for Sushi...both are walk ins...)

So wish me luck...especially with the CP Breakfast and the Dining with an Imagineer...limited spaces...:confused3

We didn't do the walk from the Studios from the Beach Club but Epcot is literally right there...:goodvibes and just being able to do the whole Boardwalk loop is great... so many restaurants and just a really pretty walk as well...

I think in all the 10 days we stayed at BWV we only bought something from the Bakery once - on our very last day. And it was just sandwiches. No cakes... Don't ask me why. Your's look very nice, but the strawberry one has a little bit of an unnatural pinkish flavour...

LOL... they sell a high volume there so I think their items are always pretty fresh... I'm sure there is food coloring in some of the cupcakes... they also had a chocolate peanut butter cake that was quite good...

So the bride was having her pictures taken with Todd and Paul in the room? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I guess you really couldn't go over and check their names tags. :rotfl2:

I know... I was stunned... I was tempted to grab her and save her... lol...:lmao: Obviously her photographer didn't notice how creepy Todd and Paul were... otherwise I'd have thought she's have asked to have them moved... Hopefully they aren't in the shots...I couldn't get in too close... I didn't want to creep the Bride out... like I was a stalker... little did she know what was behind her...:scared1:

LOVE THE BOARDWALK! Are you definitely staying there in July? I can't wait until the 7 month window opens up so I can waitlist there for October. :thumbsup2

YES that is where we're staying...:cool1:

I love your comparison of the Boardwalk and the Beach Club. I actually think I am going to waitlist at the Beach Club too because Denny has never stayed there.

Yes you should-he should try it... I think I want to try all of the DVC props if I can...:goodvibes

I love the BWI! Those chairs really are creepy! Can you imagine being the one to make them :scared1: 72 degrees is a bit chilly for me too, but your son seemed to enjoy his time in the pool!

The proportions are cute and they concept is whimsical... but those faces... so creepy... I'm not sure if it was intentional but it feels so out of character with the rest of the decor... everything is whimsical and charming... no other scary, scary faces...:confused3 Oh my son will pretty much swim in any temp... not me... I'm a bit of a wimp with cold water...

Love your pictures from the Boardwalk. Had hoped to take Tom over there but then it didn't happen when he got sick. Jeremy and I stayed there last year on our mother/son trip and loved the Christmas decorations. However, I never noticed those chairs. Very Creepy!!!

I read in your TR that Tom was pretty sick... I'm sorry about that... Being sick is not ever fun but seems so wrong on vacation...:worried: I love the Boardwalk Resort... so very well done... those chairs are really just creepy... I'd love to know why the decorator chose them... maybe she/he was just having some fun...

Oooh, those cupcakes look delicious.

Pretty yummy....

Besides the clown pool, those chairs are the reason I never wanted to stay at the Boardwalk. And guess what I did today? I booked the Boardwalk Villas for our December trip. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I'll just be srue NOT to look at the chairs and not to go near the pool. ;)

:rotfl2: See Kathy... never say never... the chair are creepy but really pretty small... I wonder if anyone would notice if I turned them to the wall while we were there...:lmao: Actually I can't believe I'm saying this... but the Clown Pool doesn't bother me so much anymore... I used to have a major clown phobia but David happened to mention to me after we went to the Big Apple Circus during Christmas break... that some clowns are creepy and others not so much... while I'm not sure I'm ever going to be a fan... I'm going to take a neutral stance... and the slide in that pool is supposed to be fun... so I'm going to have an Open mind...;)

You got a lot closer at the Boardwalk Bakery than we did...we could hardly walk in the door. Those cupcakes look so yummy...I could go for one right about now.

Well see now when you stay there in December you'll be able to get in for sure...:thumbsup2

Fun pics of David swimming. Hope you had a nice bubble bath while the boys were at the pool.

I had an amazing Bubble Bath... I just wished I had had some of the bath bombs we got at Basin a couple of days later at Basin...:cloud9:

YAY for the Boardwalk, creepy chairs and all. Home sweet home! I almost bought that T shirt, still kind of wish I would have. Are you booked for your July trip? I can't wait to book for NYE....15 days! Unless I walk the ressie and then it's 14 days :rotfl2:

Oh that's right... Boardwalk is your home...:goodvibes Boardwalk Booked and ADRs tomorrow...

Cupcakes look yummy, I didn't buy anything at the bakery last trip so pretty positive I need to fix that next year.

There is so much food all over you could go on quite a binge... I do think their things are very good since they are selling and making such volume...Their product just seems extra fresh to me...

The Boardwalk Inn is really just so pretty to go see... you can slip right out the back of International Gateway in Epcot... it's maybe a 10 minute walk... there's such a pretty porch on the back too that you can sit on with a snack or a cup of coffee... The chairs have garnered an infamous Celebrity Status on the Dis... Maybe they'll set up a Photo Pass photographer there...:rotfl2: I wanted to try the oreo cupcake as my second choice but I gave DH the choice and he wanted the peppermint...next time...;) Red Velvet is always good... Cream Cheese Frosting...:yay:
