Quiet Places?

I know of a few in and around the parks I just wasn't sure if there was a list here that I could mark on my WDW Maps app (say that three times fast) for when we are at the parks in October. I am trying to get a list in my head so if DS7 needs some quiet time and space we can sit in those areas for a bit.

Any suggestions?

but some of the places I like are the first aid stations of the parks. Once inside you can get a quiet area. This is especially good; because, you have A/C, here. Also, there's even a cot to take a rest, if needed.

In MK I really like the walkway behind the castle. In AK the Tree of Life outside area with pathways can be good. In Epcot, believe it or not, I like the Innoventions buildings--find a more quiet spot wherever inside. In Hollywood Studios, I'd probably head over to the Share a Dream Exhibit and find a quiet corner there, but there's no seating except for the theater area. None of these areas will be without people, but it won't be packed and you can have your own space pretty easy. None of these will be remote and isolated, either.

Others will chime in with other ideas; I'm sure.

the walkway behind the castle is now always filled with people waiting to meet whatever princess is below (unless you mean a different walkway)

I used to like the walk from toontown to tomorrowland but that's closed. I like the wooden walkway from liberty square to fronteirland, you can usually find a shaded, quiet spot.

In epcot the area behind UK - in the hedge garden - is always pretty quiet (unless there is a concert back there) but I find that there are lots of pockets of quiet spots in future world - never a problem there for us.

AK is our worst spot, it always feels too crowded and too over heated. I'm not sure if it's open all the time, but the walk down to camp minnie mickey where the lion king show happens is usually pretty quiet. Also, the area near the entrance is nice.

Studios - streets of NY are usually nice and quiet.

For MK going behind the castle can still be good if you coordinate with the meet and greets and avoid them; although, I really don't know if that's possible, now.

I was thinking going to some Epcot exhibits may help. There's one in China with the soldiers and Mexico always has something being displayed upfront. Again, it won't be deserted, but it will be better. In Morocco there's a building with many tiles that might provide some relief.

For Epcot, I have a gem I think in going underneath the stairs of the Teppan Edo restaurant. There will probably be some strollers and ECVs parked there, but it should be pretty empty of people. I think in Italy upfront as you enter the country you can climb some stairs to get a view of the lagoon and almost no one wants to climb these stairs; so, it's usually empty up there. There's also an area by the lagoon in Italy where you climb a few stairs and that can be empty, too. The outside, side areas of the American Adventure pavillon might be all right.

In AK, the tiger exhibit can be empty at times. Close to Tusker House on the side there can be some isolation.

I'll write more as I get another wave of places; stay tune.

Since there are different reasons for "quiet time", I will share a few suggestions.

I would not suggest First Aid for quiet time in the middle of a meltdown.

Epcot has some great places you can go and not disturb others. One place that it usually open is just outside the WS exit. There is a large grass area we used with DD to burn off energy. There are also restrooms and benches in the area.

The exit to Misson Space has an airconditioned play structure.

There are some shaded benches between Test Track and Mission Space. (Some are in a smoking area).

There is a hallway when you exit the Character connection. They removed the benches, but you can sit on the floor and it is air conditioned. Restrooms are in the same building. (You can also pop over to Club Cool for some free soda samples).

If you need a "break" from the noise of WDW

- the UK garden is usually peaceful (make sure the band is not playing). There is also a maze to burn off some energy. There are benches, but no shade. Restrooms are around the corner.

- The temple in China is often peaceful and air conditioned. There are several benches. The area serves as the waiting area for the movie "Reflections of China".

Subbing to this thread. Great to be aware of some quiet spots for if/when our sons get overwhelmed!

One of my son's favorite quiet spots is near the Coral Reef restaurant. There is a little pond and a mother duck and her ducklings are usually swimming there.

I also wanted to mention Tom Sawyers Island in the MK, as a place to go to keep things from getting overwhelming. The patio in front of Aunt Polly's is particularly relaxing, and has some sweet rocking chairs.

I don't know about in WDW, but in DL I go to Tom Sawyer Island and find a quiet corner. This may be helpful for you as well because it is outdoors and have room to move.

I love First Aid, but it can be a hike from a lot of places. Also, there are other people there, so mid-meltdown may not help. I use it though when I am feeling myself get overwhelmed and need to lay down and calm down before I get too worked up.
