Quiet place for a rest?

I'm a bit nervous about our arrival day. We land in MCO at 10:40 am. Ideally our room will be ready when we arrive and we can grab lunch at the resort then take a nap. I understand that may not be an option. Where could we go to rest and relax if we have to wait for our room?

I would pack your Bathing suite in your carry on and not expect to check in early for a nap... Could you sleep/lounge around the pool ?

Most likely... you will have your room ready.....Can't guarantee but I've never had a problem.

I was thinking about that as well. As long as the weather is decent and its reasonably quite I should be able to snooze.

Papa's Den is right next to the lobby and check in, you can sit in one of the comfy chairs, waiting for your villa.

Pack your swimsuits in your carryon and go and relax at a quiet pool. Plenty of shade. Bring a book. Read and take a nap. We love OKW. The whole resort is relaxing.:goodvibes

Hall of Presidents....

LOL. Tempting but I'm not sure I want to "waste" a park ticket just to nap. We have plans to meet up with the rest of our group in DTD for dinner and shopping later in the evening.

Just a quick reminder...OKW is a DVC resort and check in is at 4pm. We are travelling down this week also for F&W. We do not plan to be in room before 4pm and have found in 15 years of ownership they usually don't have a room ready before 4. The quiet pools are perfect for a nap. They host afternoon pool parties at the main pool that are geared toward the kids and very LOUD.

Enjoy your stay.

We were OKW last week. We arrived at 11 AM, checked in, then had lunch at Olivia's. I received the text message with our room number during lunch. We were unpacking by 1 PM. It is possible that you will be in the room before 4pm.

I think online check-in gives you a better shot of a room when you arrive. They ask when you expect to arrive at the resort.

The only issue I have found at quiet pools is people taking up tables while doing their laundry. Otherwise, there are plenty of chaise lounges.

Enjoy - OKW is beautiful!

We checked in at OKW around 7AM once and our villa wasn't available until 5:45PM. That was a fluke, though. But we've had other times when our DVC villa wasn't ready at 4PM.

I'd head to the South Point Pool or the Millers Road pool since they tend to be a little quieter than the Turtle Pond or main pool. Papa's Den is okay, too, but as guests arrive in large groups, it can get noisy, too.

Depending on length of stay, it might not be much of a waste. For our next trip, I was going to do 6 days of theme park tix, and to add an extra day for 2 adults and 2 kids was like $24 total, to me, just strolling down Main St, going to the bakery and watching Wishes is worth $24, it's our arrival day routine, regardless of what time we arrive.
