Quickest Welcome Home trip?

I was curious if anyone else has had a Welcome Home trip booked and taken this fast.

On 6/14 we told our guide that we had been talking to for a year that we wanted to make it happen.

On 6/15 the paperwork arrives, payment made, the account is setup and our trip is booked.

On 7/3 we are staying in the Poly Tower for a week in a Deluxe Studio for our Welcome Home trip.

Now we are back at our real home with a second trip booked for next year.

I’m still amazed at how quickly all that happened.

Next year is just within our normal home resort priority booking window.

I think the trick for the WH trip is if they have a cash room available, they will make it happen with a hold for you as part of the sale.

Welcome Home!

May I predict a few things?

You end up averaging more than one trip per year. End up adding-on another home resort. End up booking rooms that weren't in your original plans of point use.

We are a bunch of enablers here on DVC Disboards, lol.

Ours was probably about the same turnaround time, we used our first welcome home trip for a week long trip about 4 months after we bought - but after that was settled, we stalked the site and got a long weekend at AKL for about 3 weeks after we bought.

We purchased VDH as soon as it became available to the general public (early June). And while the points were in our account right away, we needed to wait until the tower actually opened. Our Welcome Home trip started Oct 12 (19 days after the tower opened).

We did not get a Welcome Home trip because we bought BWV resale before buying direct, and didn’t bother asking

We did get a $1500 credit named Welcome Home. Any upcoming onsite reservation qualified, making our existing BWV trip in December even better!

Years ago, DVC would allow people currently vacationing at Walt Disney World to take a sales tour, sign the paperwork, and then move into a villa (booked with their points) mid-stay. There have also been promos that came bundled with a one-time set of annual passes which could be activated almost immediately.

As time went on they moved away from such promotions, ostensibly because they got burned by people who took advantage of the promos and either didn't follow through with the purchase or defaulted on the payment schedule.
