We have a reservation for the princess tea for my daughter and granddaughter and myself. We are staying at POR and wonder what is best way to get to the Grand Floridean. We do have a van but not sure of my way around. Any suggestions or directions? We leave Nov. 28

Driving is the fastest way by far...directions are simple, follow signs to the MK and when you get close to the MK there will be signs for the MK resorts, including the GF.

well, since the tea isn't until the afternoon, will you actually be starting from your resort or from one of the parks?

Assuming it's not the day you arrive, if you want to avoid the hassle of driving. You can certainly take Disney's transportation to the Magic Kingdom and then take the monorail to the Grand Floridian. Especially since you aren't trying to do this early in the morning it shouldn't take too long.

But technically, driving yourself would be faster.

Another option, although I don't know if it's faster, would be to take the boat from Port Orleans to Downtown Disney and then take a bus directly to the Grand Floridian.

Driving is always quicker but I like to leave the driving to others while on vacation. So if you also prefer to relax and let WDW do the "driving" I would take the bus to the MK and then ride the monorail to GF. I think the girls may enjoy the monorial and if you allow some extra time perhaps get a chance to ride in the front. Alternately you can take the first bus to any theme park and then from that theme park take the bus back to the GF. Personally I perfer going via the MK because I enjoy riding the monorail.

Not the cheapest, but there's always the taxi option if you're really pressed for time. Just go to bell services and they'll get you a cab.

We stayed at POR in May and had a dinner ressie at GF. We took the bus to MK and then rode the monorail to the GF. My kids were so excited! I can't remember how much extra time we allowed for the monorail ride to the GF, but we had plenty on time. My dd loved checking out the hotel and getting some extra pictures. She was dressed in her Cinderella outfit! As the OPs have said, driving is the quickest, but it can be a hassle. Good luck and Enjoy!
