Hello -

Will be staying at CSR for the first time later this week. On a day with EMH hours at MK, the groupl plans on going to MK from 7:30 - 12, then getting over to Animal Kingdom from 1-5 (only time we can visit AK all trip, 4 hours is tight). What is the quickest way to accomplish this - and we do have a rental car.

1 - Take Disney bus to MK, then bus to AK (is there a direct bus), then bus to resort.

2 - Drive to MK (park far away), drive to AK.

3 - Drive to Polynesian resort and park there, hop on monorial to MK, then bus it to AK and eventually back to Polynesian.

4 -
3 - Drive to Polynesian resort and park there, hop on monorial to MK, then monorail back to Polynsian to pick up car and drive to AK.

Anybody done this before? Any options I did not consider?

1 - Take Disney bus to MK, then bus to AK (is there a direct bus), then bus to resort.

This is going to be the best way with Disney transport, IMO. The rub is that the bus to AK runs from the TTC, so you'll have to take the monorail or ferry from the MK and then switch to a bus. Another alternative is to walk to the CR and take an AK bus from there, but you may stop at one or more of the other monorail resorts on the way.

2 - Drive to MK (park far away), drive to AK.

This will work too, but you have the same issues with parking at the MK as you do with busing from MK to AK since you have to get from the MK to the TTC before getting your car. And I hate driving on vacation, so my predisposition would to NOT do this.

3 - Drive to Polynesian resort and park there, hop on monorial to MK, then bus it to AK and eventually back to Polynesian.

4 - Drive to Polynesian resort and park there, hop on monorial to MK, then monorail back to Polynsian to pick up car and drive to AK.

The problem with both of these is that you will not be allowed to park at the Poly for more than three hours or so unless you are staying there.

The only other option I can think of would be to bus to the MK, walk to the CR and take a cab to AK from there, then bus back to CSR.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did not realize the 3 hour limit at the Polynesian (and I assume CR) for non-hotel hotel guests. The problem with the cab is that there are 6 of us (all adults, no sitting on laps here), which means 2 cabs will be needed.

Probably will end up taking the bus to MK, walk to CR, and bus to AK. That is what we get for trying t osqueeze to much into a too short vacation. Damn jobs.

Honestly the walk to the CR takes about 15 minutes and the walkway is well marked. Keep in mind that the bus to the AK from the CR may also stop at the Poly and/ or the GF before going to the AK.
I would suspect that either walking over to the CR and taking the AK bus from there or taking the taking the express monorail to the TTC and then getting the AK bus will probably take about the same amount of time.

If one of your plans was to drive to the Poly, I assume your vehicle must hold 6 passengers, therefore you could drive to the Poly or CR and valet park, cost is $12 plus tips and you can park as long as you like.
You'll probably save an hour or two of time which seems to be more important to you, so it might be money well spent.
