Hello everyone! We are half-way through our trip and loving every minute of it. Today was supposed to be our Hollywood Studios day but while we were on our way in we realized we had a flat. The stinking tire just wouldn't come off so we had to call roadside assistance. They, somehow, "lost" our claim so it took them HOURS to get to us. Once we got the spare on it we realized we had wasted half our day and didn't want to use one of our park tickets. We also were going to miss our ADR for the Mama Melrose Fantasmic package, signing up for the Jedi Training, most of our Fast passes, etc. So... we decided to just take the day off and add a day to our trip. DH is now on his way back from getting the tire plugged and balanced and I don't want to completely waste the day down here.
So- what should we do? I would like to avoid spending lots of money because we did have to pay for an extra night's stay, extra meals, etc. I was thinking maybe we could go visit one or more of the resorts? Any ideas? Not sure if it makes a difference, but we are staying offsite. TIA!

I would say visit resorts if it were the Holidays but nothing is really going down right now.. of course I had never been to AKL and we went the other day for Boma breakfast and I was amazed at the place and wanted to walk around.. so maybe that could be an option.

I would say if your offsite, hit the beach :) you got Cocoa and Daytona right up the road

I should add- we had a scheduled "break day" yesterday and spent it at St. Pete Beach.

You could hang out in Celebration...stroll around the lake, see the shops, grab some dinner at one of the great restaurants, get some ice cream:)

If you want something 'Disney' you could do Downtown Disney. It's neat looking in all the shops and there are some good restaurants. I see you have 3 little boys. T-Rex Cafe is in downtown Disney and any dinosaur loving little boy thinks it is awesome ;)

Downtown Disney is a mess right now (listen to Pete's rant on the podcast!), so I'd skip it. I would spend some time around the Boardwalk area, see those area resorts. If you have a car I'd throw in maybe Animal Kingdom Lodge and/or Art of Animation, too.

You can goto Fort Wilderness and do pony rides, archery and stick around for chip and dales campfire singalong.

Thanks for all the tips! We ended up visiting AKL and seeing all the animals and afterwards we went to the Chip and Dale Campfire singalong and roasted marshmallows at Ft. Wilderness. Spent a little less than $12 for a great night!
