Just a quick review of where we ate this weekend on our spur of the moment weekend.
We have 2 week cruise coming up next month for our anniversary and my Birthday, but decided last minute to head up. I got a room at The Contemporary, main tower lake view, it was amazing. This hotel has been a bucket list for a long time.
I have to say, I love The Arts Festival it was amazing.
Glad we will be back next month for a couple days to see more of it.
Deluxe Burger: This was a really good burger, nice and juicy. We actually split one because we had dinner reservations at California Grill later for dinner and we wanted to enjoy dinner so we just ate a little to get by.
Sprinkles cupcakes: Been waiting to try this place, I had a vanilla cupcake with milk chocolate frosting, it was just ok, nothing really special.
California Grill: OMG! Another first for us. This place was amazing. It reminded us of Palo on The Disney Cruise Ships, but louder. The bread was delicious, I asked for butter instead of the oil and spices they offer.
I wanted to eat more but held myself back.
We spilt the beet salad, it was super tiny, not really enough to split. The flavor was really good, but for $17 it should have been bigger.
My husband went for sushi for dinner ( I won't eat sushi, so when we go someplace that has it, its usually his go to. He really enjoyed what he had, I can't remember which ones he chose.
I had the Pork tenderloin with goat cheese polenta and brussel sprouts, the absolute best pork I have ever eaten, it was so yummy and just enough spice for me. My husband tried it and loved it too. Kept talking about it all weekend, we will be back for that dish.
We shared the chocolate cake, I think it was called Valhrona Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, it was really good, not overly sweet.
On Saturday, we went into EPCOT early and went to The Bakery in France and got Croque Monsieur sandwiches for breakfast, always a good choice.
We went over to the Boardwalk and shared a pretzel for lunch and then we went into Ample Hills Creamery, we each got a scoop of The baked/unbaked ice cream with hot fudge, yummmmm.
Shula's Steakhouse: Its located in The Dolphin Hotel, this was the first time we tried Shula's and we are from Miami. We each ordered the 10 ounce tenderloin and got a baked potato and sautéed spinach to share.
It was a good dinner, my steak was cooked better than my husbands, he was happy to finish what I didn;t eat.
We split the chocolate souffle for dessert, it was very good.
It was a good dinner, but I think there are better steak restaurants out there.
On Sunday before we headed home, we went into The Wave since it was in the hotel and it was an ugly rainy, windy, cool morning.
Not the best breakfast ever, it was ok.
I had The avocado toast and poached egg, the bacon was limp and cold as was the egg.
My husband had the egg white frittata, he said it was nothing special. His toast must have been sitting in the back for a while, the butter didn't melt at all.
Not sure we will be back to this place.
It was a great weekend and I am looking forward to next month when we spend a few days in Disney with our kids and grandkids, then our cruise through the Panama Canal just the 2 of us!
