I've bene thinking a lot about all of you, so I thought I would give you all a quick update on how things have been going since our trip.
We came back from a wonderful Disney World trip to find my mother in law diagnosed with lung cancer and blood clots. She pased away two weeks later.
The same week she passed away, I started a class at school. It is a teaching course, and veyr very challenging. I am enjoying it, but there is a lot of writing, and critical analysis.
I went back to work also a week prior to her death. I am assisting a sixth grade class, and they are interesting. There are multiple disablities and strengths. I as just the paraprofessional have been called to do many teacher things... this year. I have had to field parent calls, IEP meetings with school psychologist, etc... basically doing all teacher work at a very very low pay! (for the work I am technically doing)
We are still hanging in after my MIL's death. Now we are just sorting stuff, and it seems almost clinical. Its likea person didn't exist at all. We did volunteer to take her dogs.. so that has also been an adjustment. The dogs are fine, but they are realizing boundaries with the kids...
Anyway, thats its in a nutshell.
