Quick update from our Labor day weekend trip,
Stayed at the Clarion, about a 15 minute walk with all of us. Because of construction we elected to go straight up Harbor, as Convention Way is a MESS! We took the ART bus most of the time, short waits. Clarion is Bus 6, but if Bus 4-5 come sooner, it is a VERY short walk from the Hilton. Clarion was clean, not fancy, Brought up a crib for the 2 year old. Very Comfortable.
DIL did the 1/2 Marathon on Sunday. Crowds fairly heavy all weekend. Did Cars first thing, FP line clear past, nearly up to the restaurant. We got child swap, and for the most part did single rider line. For you WDW'ers, this is a Great test track update! The theming of the entire Land is spot on with fun surprises! We LOVED the Mater themed Tractor ride, very clever!
Food is our favorite thing at Disney! We ate at Naples (DTD), good food, and balloon artists that work for tips. These are not your standard Balloon animals. GS got a hat with a fishing pole holding a very detailed Goldfish. I saw an AMAZING Viking Hat with blond braids, and a flamingo hat with legs down to the waist. (Being worn by a big man about 6'5"
Had a meal at the Carthay Circle. Ordered Entree/Dessert or Entree/appetizer and got preferred seating for World of Color. Super food, reminded me of Brown Derby. I had the Pork Satay which was out of this world!! It was the appetizer, and had a sauce I could have eaten a bowl of!
Ate once at the Food Courty thing in DCA, Soup in Bread bowls, and Kids meals from the Mexican Place. (Came in the cute Mickey shaped plates)
Also were able to do stand by at the Blue Bayou~a favorite of ours many many years ago, it did not disappoint! We ordered a great variety, Salmon, Filet, Crab Cakes, and Beef. All wonderful, as was the gumbo! The potatoes must be filled with something illegal, as I could not stop eating them!!!
Oh yes, and we did some rides while we were there.
