My wife and I headed out to Orlando for our first Adults only Disney trip on Sept 28 that lasted through Oct 6. We didn't check into Port Orleans Riverside until Monday Oct 1 so we spent two nights at St. Augustine and one night at The Buena Vista Spa and Resort at DTD. The Spa and Reasort was OK but it's no Disney Resort. We did get to check in early though so that made it a little more conveinent.
Our first day there on Sunday we spent at DTD since we didn't check into our Disney Resort until Monday. I was surprised at how busy DTD was. It was packed. Earl's Sandwich was lined up out the door. We ate at Portabello that night which was just OK at best.
On Monday we went to check in at POR and again we got to check in early at 10:00AM and we got our perferred room. We then went to MK whick was also packed that AM but the wait lines for rides wasn't to bad. That evening we went to Epcot since we was there for the Food and Wine Festival. We ate at epcot every evening except Wednesday. The F&WF was OK but they don't really give you any place to set and eat. What few table each booth had was pretty much filled up all week. They had some good food and beer but I thought the F&WF was OK at best. We did enjoy some of our evening meals though. I thought Las Hacienda was excellent.
We hit all the other parks during the morning and would do the F&WF in the evening. We done the 3D Desert Discovery on Friday evening and we thought that was great time and worth the money. Good food and lots or liquor. On the other hand we done the Mickey's Spooktacular on Thursday evening and it was a little disapointing. I thought the crowds would be less since it cost extra to go but it was packed. I saw hundreds of worn out kids waiting in hour long lines for candy and to meet characters.
Overall it was a good visit. Not sure I would go back just for the F&WF.
