We made the drive down from Las Vegas last Thursday afternoon to get some use out of our AP's. Made it down by early evening and started by wandering around DCA. Wait time for Screamin' was about 45 minutes, so we ended up just strolling around for a bit before heading over to DL. Crowds were definitely noticeable, but we were not in a rush to do a lot that evening. We were able to do POTC, HM, Pooh, Casey Jr, Toad, Nemo and BTMR wrapped around dinner at the Hungry Bear. We all really enjoyed the new menu, especially the Fried Green Tomato sandwich, the Turkey sandwich, and the Lemon cupcake. We hung around long enough the watch Wishes before riding the Monorail to DTD and calling it a night and heading out.
We made it to the gates right at opening at DL on Friday morning. The heavy drizzle/light rain probably kept people away that early, so crowds were pretty light. We knocked out SM, both sides of Matterhorn, IASW, Peter Pan and Dumbo before heading to DCA. Made it across just after opening and hit up Screamin' (about 10 minutes stand-by), Symphony Swings, Monsters Inc, Soarin' (FP) and caught the first Aladdin showing. Took a break for dinner off-site at Mama Cozza's before returning to DL around 9pm. Watched Wishes from top level of parking structure, which was pretty cool. Took our time strolling about. Over the next 3 hours, we were able to do SM, BTMR, Indy with FP that were still available, as well as stand-by for Buzz. Also watched Fantasmic from near Golden Horseshoe, with a good view by walking up just before the start. Wandered through Main Street shops just before closing, before calling it quits.
All in all, the massive crowds were very manageable to us, but the rainy Friday morning weather really helped us out...aside from the wet butts we gots from some ride seats. Will take any questions if anyone has any. Thanks.
