I don’t usually write Trip Report’s b/c well, we go for so many days and it just seems tedious. I do love to read them so I thought I would return the favor, sort of. Instead of doing a day by day description I’ll just give y’all the highlights.

Who Went?
Four of us. Myself, My partner and his parents, who I love to travel with. Now this says a lot, since this is our fourth trip with them IN A ROW.

Accommodations:
We stayed at Bay Lake Tower, Lake View but asked for partial magic Kingdom view and COULD SEE BOTH from the balcony. This was by far the coolest thing ever.
His Parents stayed at Port Orleans Riverside where they were promised the view of a black bear’s back side but never saw it.

The Trip:
Sunday – May 9, 2010 to Saturday – May 15, 2010.

Everyday was fun as always with a couple of days having of extra magic. Tuesday was one of those days that ever thing comes together.
Tuesday:
We started at Animal Kingdom, Did the Rides, Saw the Shows, Dinosaur was down but no biggie. His parents decided to call it a day pretty early (later we found out they stayed longer than we did). So we went to back to Bay Lake Tower. I thought German food sounded good. So on to the Monorail, over to Epcot and Bratwurst in Germany for dinner. It was at that time a “coven” of Tupperware people descended on the Germany area. There were hordes of these ladies in green t-shirts. First I thought it was a disboards thing. But soon saw the Tupperware logo. Well, they began to party we finished our bratwurst and headed over to the Magic Kingdom, rode Haunted Mansion, Pooh, Small World and a few other things and then watched the fireworks in possibly the best place I had ever seen it.
So its sounds like an average day at Disney but what made it so great, was we realized Bay Lake Tower is an awesome choice as far as convenience.
We hit three parks in one day and it was effortless.

We also hit a few good restaurants while we were there: Brown Derby, Boma, and Kouzzina. Our Reservations were really easy to get as we booked Brown Derby and Boma online a couple of weeks before and got the time we wanted. Kouzzina we booked on Wednesday for the next Friday Night and got in at 5:15. A little early, but by time we ate it was 6. I had never been to Kouzzina and it was wicked delicious. I love lamb. I ordered the Lamb Shank and switched the side of butter beans for greens and it was YUMMY. The shank was about the size of Sherri Lewis’s Fist, probably bigger and too good to share (but I did). The hummus and other appetizers were some the best I’ve had too.

As mentioned in the “bucket list” post. We watched the Space Shuttle take off from the dock of the contemporary. It was awe inspiring. For me, time stopped and that instance was all there was. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel or hear rumble. I did have the rumble and our house shook on the horrible day that the Space Shuttle Columbia blew up over our heads. So this was redemption of sorts.

Also, we saw “Wishes” 5 nights in a row either from our balcony, park, or top of the world lounge. Now the night we chose for Top of the World. There was also a wedding by the Polynesian that had about a ten minute firework show right after wishes. They spent HUGE bucks and it was elaborate. It was incredible to see a double shoot off.

The best part about the trip was how much my partner seemed to enjoy the end of each day. He would sit of the balcony, just looking at the castle with his feet up. He just loved the way it looked. He would get up in the night and check on the castle every now and then. In the morning I would get different reports about the castle lights from him. “Cindy turned the lights off at one last night but her window was still lit” or “they were testing the spot lights on the castle around three AM”.

There’s more and maybe I’ll write about it, mainly about observing the wild life around the lake (the real Buzzards of Bay Lake). But that’s about it.

It was just another great trip.
Now it’s time to plan the next trip: DisneyLand in December!!! YAY.

Sounds like the perfect trip! I'd love to stay at the Contemporary or BLT some day.

Glad you had a great time. Sounds like you really enjoyed your view!! Reminds me of my view from my Poly room last year. Watched Wishes from it almost every night.

Sounds like you had a great time....and it's wonderful that you can enjoy vacations with your DPs folks...

Sounds like you had fun! We also travel with the parents, and enjoy it! We own DVC @ BLT. I think you are so right, the convienience is great! I usually do not have to spend a large part of my vacation on those buses! I also love how it really opens up choices for dinner. You do not seem stuck at one place or too worn out to do anything!

YAY!! :cool1:

Sounds wickedly magical. The little girl in me will pee her pants when I finally get to stay at the CS with an MK view.
