Just got back. We had a fanastic first trip to Universal---for 4 days and nights it was all about Harry!
On the wheat free /dairy free looking for child friendly meals front:
1. Vivo Italiano: guten free ziti w dairy free meat sauce. They were willing to offer other options but she stuck with that. However, she was also sick the next morning....so I cannot say for sure if it was ok.
2. Menchies: dairy and wheat free Paradise fruit punch, watermelon, and island mango sorbet. Also, dairy free marshmallow topping.
3. Dairy/wheat free Orange Fizzy at Diagon alley was ok. No butter beer per Universal Chef.
4. 3 Broom sticks: wonderful chicken, potatoes and corn on cob...we went back 2x.
5. Watermelon in cart in line for HE from Diagon alley. Really, lots of fruit carts everywhere.
6. Leaky Cauldren: gluten and wheat free pancakes: she was not a fan but they brought her out a big plate of fruit.
7. There was a counter service Italian place right near the Beetle Juice theater. It had gluten and dairy free pasta. However, it was going to take over an hour to make. No other choices and we did not want to waste one of two hours we had left. The manager was awsome and offered anything she could find.... So, rainbow ice dippen dots for dinner! There is a cart right near there!
8. Confiscos: burger and dairy free pasta w sauce.
9. Mythos: very good staff...checked on all options; she had a burger (again)
10. Slushy carts everywhere
11. Free snow cones (and free sunblock) at RP pool!
12. Jakes at RP: burger for lunch
Also, we loved the express pass and touring at night with low lines. Diagon alley at night was very fun! We we even searched for hidden spell spots. The goblin at the bank is too funny. Gringotts is the best ride ever!!! (no motion sickness....wahoo).
Needless to say, count us as 4 more converts! We are already planning another trip!
