With a 2 day base ticket, we can get in one park one day and the other the next, right? With the way it is worded online, it sounds like you only get to go to one park. It's just not a hopper, right?

The base ticket is single park. Then they have park to park.

It's just like disney tickets. If you buy a 2 day base you can go to One park one day and a different park the next. If you buy the park to park it is like a hopper ticket 2,3 or 4 parks per day

Yes, you can. It is one park per day. So whichever park you enter on that day, you can only stay in that park not go to the other. So if you do the Studios on one day, you can still do Islands on the second day.
