Quick Sillver with Alamo

I have a reservation with Alamo for a SUV using the Walmart code and a coupon. I know I can register both myself and my DH online before we leave so that all the paperwork is prepared before we get there, but do I also need to sign up for Quiksilver if I want to just walk out to the garage and by-pass the lines at the terminal counter?

I thought I read somewhere that if you use a coupon, you have to go to the counter first, but I noticed a post where someone said they didn't bother and had no problem.

I'm a little confused! I'd love to by-pass the lines if possible, so would appreciate any help anyone can offer!

When we used it at Alamo last year, we walked right out the building and directly into the Parking garage booth. A week later our DD came in but didn't sign up for it and waited over and hour in line just to check her reservation in.

I recommend it JMHO

I've done it both ways, with and without *********** - both times with coupons. With *********** no one ever asked about the coupon - I checked in at the kiosk, bypassed a long line and went directly to the car.

Can I sign up for this after I have my reservation and add it to my booking without changing it and losing my rate ?

I don't think so. When I originally signed up for the Q program I had a ressie and had to rebook it to get it as a Q member.

No, you cannot add it. You will have to cancel and re-book.

Just a heads-up for anyone looking to join Q'silver, it takes up to 5 working days to get your number, before you can re-book with it. I applied last night, and hopefully the deals will still be available once I get my number. Obviously, I won't be cancelling my existing reservation until I can confirm a new one with the Q'silver number.

Years ago when I signed up for Q'Silver I called Alamo and the agent did add my Q'Silver # to my already-booked reservation. It wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

I got my Q'silver number this morning and re-booked with all the codes and coupons I had previously! woo-hoo!!!

Now, my question is, do we go to the kiosk in the garage first, then pick out an SUV OR do we pick out an SUV, then report to the kiosk?

I know, trivial details, but with only 10 days to go everything else has long since been taken care of! And being an obsessive-compulsive planner, I have to have something to plan!!

Go to the kiosk in the garage and give them your paperwork. Then pick out the car and stop at the checkout booth that is on the way out of the garage. Give them the tag that will be hanging in the vehicle along with the paperwork printed by the kiosk.
