So this is the package we got. Has anyone felt their kids did not get enough choices from this plan? Do the kids have to pick off the kids menu?

Any thoughts?

I don't know how old your kids are so I really can't say whether I think there would be enough food. If your child is 3-4 maybe even 5 or they eat like a bird, then they probably are - any older than that, probably not. Technically, kids have to order off the kids menu if there is one, however my son ate adult meals 5 of the 9 CS meals we ate. I split CS meals with my dd5 several times as well so the adult meals are enough for sharing and still have enough food.

my daughter is 10, and my son is 9, but he does not eat alot of food due to his IV/Tube feeds. But I was thinking myself and dh can share our meals with our daughter if she is still hungery.

we loved it! My daughter who will be 8 in a couple weeks told us she would rather have quick service than the regular fine dining b/c she likes to be able to have good meal and not spend an hour to get there or even an hour and a half to eat there.. we totally agree with her! Quick service is the best plan for us... It has a lot of neat places you can eat.. one of our favs is Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney! Its awesome!

Since your daughter is 10, she'll have adult credits and can order from the adult choices. If you're son doesn't eat much, then they may be enough or you can share some with him.

This is great to know...Thank you so much. That was our thought process too, the kids would rather eat quick and get back to rides and such...:thumbsup2

The meal credits aren't split into kids or adults, so you can order adult meals for them. However, depending on the CM taking your order, you might have to just get the adult meals together, then go back up and order the other adult meals seperately.

For example, if you had 2 adults and 2 kids: Go up and order 2 adult meals, go back and order another 2 adult meals. 4 credits are used up. (some CM's won't mind and will give you 4 adult meals with no hassle)

My DS7 loved the salads, taco salads, BBQ sandwiches, etc on our recent trip.

Oh wow I did not know this, I thought there were 2 adults cards and 2 children's cards, so I thought they had to order off the kids menu..I was worried after a while my oldest would get tired of PB J, Chicken Nugs and Mac-n-Cheese.

We did this by going in to separate lines. You will have 3 adult cards, 1 child card, since your ds is 10.

First off, I want to say Hello!! I followed Jake's make a wish trip and it was so awesome. He's so adorable. I still remember his reaction when they got the disney on ice tickets (is that what they were)

So glad to see you guys are going back!!! We are too, can't wait. I hope you guys have a blast!!!!!

Ok, we went with this plan in May. My oldest was 13 and was on the adult plan, he was in heaven. My oldest "child" was 9 and by the end of the week, she was bummed by the limited options for kids. My youngest who were 5 and 7 did just fine with it.

There is A LOT of food though, so if your saying your 10 yr old doesn't eat as much, than I think there will also be plenty of food to share. We always walked away from a meal with food left over. A lot of times we shared a few things with the kids that were on the "child plan" There is so much. Don't worry about it, it sounds like you guys will do fine it.

Wow Thank you... We are so excitied to go back and even more excitied to be volunteering our time at Give Kids The World during our vacation as well...:cool1::cool1:

We actually have 2 kids meals and 2 adults meal cause my TA put her in as 9 years old...not a huge deal cause it saved us ton on the park hopper. But even still, she is not a huge eater, neither our DH and myself...so I it sounds like we will be good. I guess if she wants more food, it is not going to be that bad to pay out of pocket for it. Thanks again for all the comments on this. I truly appericate it

That is NOT how it worked for us, and from my understanding not how it works at all. If your child is 9 & under you have paid the child price for the DDP and therefore have child credits and adult credits. For example for my family it is Me, DH & DD7. When we check in for our 5nt trip we start with 20 adult meal credits (2QS ad meals per day pp),10 Ch QS and 30 snack credits (there is no difference in snacks between kids and adults). The dining plan costs $31.99/night for adults and $9.99/night for children so if you paid for a child you would need to order from the childrens menu. You can choose to use one of your adult credits for your dd's meal, however it is coming out of your or your husband's credits and you will be short of ad credits and have an extra child credit at the end.

Wow, I haven't been on here in a while but I can't believe this thread is still open! Giving incorrect child ages, ordering adult meals for children, etc., lol - back when I posted regularly these types of threads/posts vanished without warning!

We went last February - did the QS plan. We have also done the full dining as well. Full dining was nice but took sooo much time. This plan was perfect for us - so much more freedom! As far as the credits go, when we went they were not separated. If one wanted to, they could order all adult meals, although not usually at the same time if the card showed both adult and child credits. So, unless things have changed, then yes - you can order an adult meal for a child. Is it the right thing to do if only paying for a child plan? You make that decision. Same for calling a ten year old a nine year old - cheaper, yes; the right thing to do? No. But, that's your call. We were very fortunate when we went. We planned it so that the day we got there was the day before my dd's 10th birthday (actually this wasn't planned that way to be cheaper - just happened that her birthday was Sunday and we travel Sat - Sat.) This was when the gift cards for Bdays first started. We were able to get her in at child admission and then she got the gift card for the adult ticket amount the next day - Disney knew we didn't pay for adult ticket. However, meals were still considered child since that is what we paid for. Usually she just ordered a child meal, we fed part of it to my 14 month old and she and I split or I bought something extra for her.

Don't worry - the food situation will work out fine though. I'd be careful on the age thing, chances are nobody will ask her age but if they do and she says 10, you might be buying a full price ticket before you are allowed in. HAVE FUN ON YOUR TRIP!

ETA - how did your TA put her in as 9? My memory isn't the best but I feel like I've always had to give birth dates?

I'm also shocked about this thread.

If your child (3-9) has the dining plan then you are to order from the child's menu, unless there isn't one.

The child's dining plan is priced for the child's menu. It would be cheating to order an adult credit CS meal which is about the cost of the child's dining plan sometimes more.

I don't know how you managed to get your daughter listed as a 9 yr old when she will be 10. I do know that when I booked my 2009 Free Dining trip, I was originally taking my youngest niece who at the time of booking was still not 3. I know that I repeated at least twice that she would be 3 by the time we took the trip. When I finally looked at the price, I knew the CM put her in as 2 for the trip. I did manage to get her age corrected and then I ended up taking her older sister one more time before she would miss too much school.

I agree with the first part. I've been thinking the whole time "If the child is 10, she's considered an adult"

As for the ETA part, they do not ask for birthdates. At least not in my experience. I did have a travel agent put down the wrong age for my son and I didn't correct it either, but it didn't affect the trip. He was just days shy of 2 (so technically 1) but it said 2 on the paperwork. I figured it didn't matter... Until we decided to plan a trip for the same dates the next year to squeeze in one more trip before he was 3. I was convinced the CM would think I was lying and ask me for his birthdate or something since I was claiming to have a 2yo two years in a row. :rotfl:

My kids ages were entered incorrectly last trip but it did not affect the price of tickets/dining - we tried to have it changed and the CM's said they couldn't. By the time we go back, ds8 will be 10 so it will have to be changed then or their system will still show him as 9.

As for ordering adult meals with child credits, it is not allowed, but can be done. I even ran across a few CM's at CS places that recommended getting ds8 adult meals. The credits are all pooled on your card so you will not run out of adult credits and have leftover child credits.
