Just a quick review of our trip, ups and downs.
We first went to Universal staying at Cabana Bay getting there on the 9/29. Loved Universal, Cabana bay was a great spot to stay, and would definitely stay there again. Loved the Parks, Diagon alley is just amazing. The parks we thought were quiet, pretty much being able to walk on any ride we wanted, we were hopeful this was going to be how Disney world might be..... Not a big fan of simulator rides however, so I have to say my fav ride was probably E.T!! Thought the freestyle coke stations are a fantastic idea in the parks. Also thought the way Universal handles security is impressive, found the process easy and quick.
WDW is well WDW our favourite place in the world, though it has slipped. Found the crowds a little overwhelming this time, especially trying to get into parks. Disney needs to check out Universal and how well they do it. Having a couple of people manually searching bags etc is insane. We stopped taking bags (which was difficult with a little on in tow) because we found the waits just crazy. And watching people trying to get out of the parks (magic kingdom) when it rained was scary. There was one point I thought there may be people crushed in the tunnels as people stopped in there to stay dry while others kept coming. Cast members did not seem to be able to control this very well. We found the wait for buses much worse than previous visits, and the rides crazy, blows my mind people would que for 100mins to go on frozen???
We still love WDW, had some great experiences and found cast members on the whole great. Fantastic meals were had at Shutters, Liberty Tree, and garden grill. Terrible meal was had at mama Melrose!! Loved Animal Kingdom, EPCOT is looking tired. Was also impressed with Disney Springs which I think is almost a 5th gate on its own.
Hopefully we will be back in a few years.
