We just returned from a week at DW and our first time on the DDP. We always go budget so we never eat at Disney restaurants. However, we got free DDP so we tried lots of new things! We made good use of our credits and used every one! I thought I would post a short review of a newbie's experiences:

Tableservice -

Biergarten - pretty good but not great. My DDs loved it though. We did have to wait 20 minutes or so to get in because apparently one of the parties at our table was late. Cheesecake here is light and airy and wonderful!

50's Prime Time - again, pretty good but not great. I had pot roast, DD fried chicken and other DD had kids meal. Our server was good and had my one DD pegged instantly (Drama Queen!) He called her "brat" the whole time which my other DD got a total kick out of. Desserts were good.

The Wave - this was my favorite. Service and food were great. I had pork dish, DDs steak. The dessert was great. I picked 3 different desserts instead of one trio. They weren't too happy about that but they let me do it. I had the zucchini-carrot cake (fabulous), cheesecake, and chocolate mousse. We went out and watched fireworks after. We will go back here!

Chef Mickey's Breakfast - this was fine and character interaction was good. The food was ok but I probably would never pay for this.

Whispering Canyon Cafe - I was disappointed by this place. My expectations probably were too high. We had skillets which were ok - ribs and chicken were the best but the brisket wasn't very good. The amount of potatoes was too small though. So we asked for seconds which took us awhile to get. Then they brought a hugh plate - much more than we could eat. Milkshakes were good. My biggest complaint was the noise. It wasn't long before I had a headache! Much too loud and chaotic for my taste. Our server was ok but the whole thing was very slow. And then they got our takeover dessert order completely wrong which we didn't realize until we go back to the room.

Captain's Grill - this place was pretty good. DD had steak and I had Prime Rib. The steak was a little fatty but DDs ate it all and PR was good. The best thing about this place were the rolls (wonderful) and the mega-berry smoothies which were different than the other Disney restaurants where I got them. They were really much more like homemade raspberry milkshakes. They were so good that my DDs kept drinking mine so the server brought them their own!

The Plaza - this was a nice respite from the heavy meals we had at the other TS restaurants. I had DDs share but they could have each eaten their own. They had chicken sandwich and I had tuna. Both were good. Banana split was a welcome change as well and very good. Server was poor, however.

Counterservice/Quick Service -

AS Music Foodcourt - we ate here more than I planned and it was much better than I expected. The hamburgers were great - DD who has always refused to eat hamburgers is now hooked. Pasta dish was also great. The family pizza was also great on arrival night and a pretty good deal for 2 CS credits. The brownie sundae is included as a dessert on the DP and it was hugh!

Wolfgang Puck Express - this place was wonderful. I had chicken, DDs pizza and 4 cheese macaroni. We all loved it. DDs had frozen yogurt for dessert which was a good deal.

Pepper Market - I was alittle disappointed here. DDs ribeye was mostly fat. Other DD's pasta had lots of tomato chunks that she wouldn't eat. My rostierre chicken was good but the vegetables were terrible. Desserts were hugh and pretty good, however. I wanted the stir fry (which looked good) but is was going to take too long to make.

Disney Quest - we had one credit left so we used it here. We just had chicken nuggets but they do have sandwichs and wraps. It was ok but Disney Quest itself was mobbed!

Overall, we had a great time with free dining. Way too much food, but we saw alot of new places and had fun!

Thanks for your reviews. Glad you got to try some Disney restaurants that you've never experienced before. We agree with your opinion of WCC...way overrated...however, my DH got sick on the ribs and the chicken--they were the only things I didn't try because I was disgusted with what I did eat. Sorry that your experience at Pepper Market wasn't very good--it seems to be a hit and miss lately (we stay there all the time and eat there about two times a trip). Glad you enjoyed Plaza--we love that change of pace after all the heavy meals.

Wolfgang Puck Express is my favorite CS restaurant. Thanks for the reviews. :goodvibes
