Quick review of Disney food

I loved it. I am a working mom with two preschool boys, and if a meal is cooked for me, it has to be pretty inedible for me not to enjoy it. Like borderline ruined, ie....oops, we dropped the salt shaker in the soup pot!

Even the QS that people say is not so good was great! Meatball sub at Pinochios house, flatbreads at Mara, it was all good. Again, it may just have been because I didn't have to cook any of it.

For all of the bad things said about Disney food, 98% of the time we had amazing food and service. And I only didn't give it 100% because of the horrible service at 'Ohana, and you know what? It still didn't ruin the meal. We just waited a little while longer for everything and it still tasted just as good.

I figure it like this. When we're at home in our non-vacation lives, most people probably eat out what, once or twice a week, at sit-down places, not drive-thru, so if that's magnified by 2-3 times a day, we're bound to get some not so good meals and service simply because it's all multiplied so much. And that's what people talk about more, not the average or above average meals, KWIM?

Overall, I loved our Disney dining experience!! I'm so sad that I'm back to being the head chef again, lol!!

I'm glad you enjoyed it all and it is very nice to not have to cook. We loved almost all the Disney food we ate and always had very good service.

I love your attitude.......That is what makes Disney so special to me......I didnt have to cook it, or clean up after we ate it...My kind of meals..

I rarely complain about the foods we get in Disney. I like to eat out and will eat pretty much anything that is brought out.....

thanks for your comments..

I hear ya! I can not wait to be waited on for 2 weeks... I need a break:lmao:

I completely agree! I don't think I've ever had a truly bad meal at Disney so I was thinking maybe I was incredibly lucky or just very easy to please. If I don't have to cook it then it's already starting off ahead of the game. I'm glad you enjoyed your meals!

We have always liked Disney's food too. We can't wait to go back and eat. I don't understand why some ppl bash it- must of had a bad day which can happen at any resturant. We've always had good luck!!

Some restaurants have been better then orthers on our trips, but NONE have been bad.

I totally get where you are coming from! I feel the same way about Disney food. 99% of it is great!! Even the 1% that isn't, isn't that bad! I never understood the terrible reviews people give...they must have really high expectations!!

I think the reason, for some people, is that the quality of the food does not match the prices charged.

For example, a $25-30 entree is pretty standard for a table-service Disney restaurant. At home, that $25 entree would mean you're sitting in a pretty nice restaurant. At Disney, that $25 may get you a meal comparable to Applebee's.

Not bashing Applebee's, you get what you pay for. But when you're getting $10 Applebee's-quality meals at a cost of well over $100 for your family of four, you may have a gripe.

That's one reason I like the dining plan- you never have to worry about the cost of each meal.

I agree with this. We just returned from a 13 day stay and ate at a lot of Disney restaurants (we had 15 sit down reservations at Disney). Most of them were ok to good. We only had one place that was truly not good. However, we were on the free dining plan, so we only paid the upgrade fee and tip. If I had paid the price that some of our meals had come out to, I don't think I would be so happy with it. For the prices of those meals, I would have expected significantly better food at the majority of the places we ate.
