Quick Rent at National Car Rental??

Can anyone tell me how the quick rental works at National. I currently have a res at Alamo, but I can get it a little cheaper at National.

Is the quick rent something comperable to the emerald isle. I'm just looking for a way to avoid standing in line. The way I understand it is that the quick rent allows you to avoid lines also. The only thing I see different is that you are not allowed to use coupons. I don't have any coupons anyway.

So instead of signing up for the emarald club could I just use the quick rent feature to avoid the lines?

coupons is one thing you cannot use for quick rent but they have some other exclusions too

QuickRent Rental Requirements and Exclusions

QuickRent is not available with reservations that contain the following:

• National coupons
• Special equipment such as child restraint seats, cars equipped with hand controls and ski or luggage racks
• Central Bill numbers
• Reservations over 30 days


In order to complete a QuickRent transaction, the primary driver must meet the following requirements:

• Must meet minimum rental age requirements
• Have a clean driving record
• Have a valid U.S. or Canadian drivers license
• Present an acceptable credit card, with available credit in their name at the time of rental

• National Car Rental does not accept debit cards at time of rental. Although a debit card may be accepted online, you will not be able to process your transaction at time of rental.


• The following credit cards may be used to complete your QuickRent transaction:
U.S. issued credit cards: Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover
Canada issued credit cards: American Express

if you have met all these it looks like you can avoid the lines and choose your car of choice from the class you rented

We used Quick Rent in July and had no problems. I made the reservation far more than 30 days out, too. I also used the Priceless vacation code with it.

When you get to the airport, you go straight to the cars, pick out one in your class that you reserved, drive to the exit and present your papers that you printed off your computer when you made your reservation as well as the credit card you used when you made your reservation. That's it! No questions, no hassles...it was great!

I think they are taking about rentals of more than 30 days, not how far out you made the rental.

LOL, safetymom! I bet you a mint you're right! When I posted that I made that reservation DISers kept telling me I couldn't have! Now it makes sense! Am I crazy for not seeing that!??!
