When we were planning our first trip with our baby, I found many posts here to be helpful. So, I decided to share some details on our trip last week with our daughter who was a few days shy of four months old.
-Plane rides were a breeze. One leg without car seat and one leg with. The car seat on the plane was nice to have somewhere for her to nap. I did a feeding on takeoff and landing and no ear issues. Ask flight attendant which bathroom has a changing table....not all bathrooms have one.
-We took her Britax B safe car seat snapped into the Britax B-agile stroller though the airport and out them in red gate check bags at the gate. Worked out great....it was nice to have her in the stroller though the airport and not carry or baby wear her.
-Our b agile stroller was awesome in the parks...we have the body support pillow and she was able to sit up nicely in it and it reclined well for naps. Easy to fold as well. We also liked having our Boba 3G carrier for carrying her in lines longer than 10 minutes. Worked for me or DH.
-I both nurse and bottle feed formula (low milk supply confirmed by doctor, so no breastfeeding tips or questions please). Baby centers were much more comfortable for me to nurse in, but I was fine with a cover in a park bench if we weren't nearby. For bottles, I took one bottle, a small bottle of dish soap, a travel canister with pre-measured formula, and a Nalgene filled with bottled water.
-Packed two pacifiers in diaper bag...never know when one will drop on the floor.
-We were surprised at how much she appeared to be interested in the rides and shows. Unless she was hungry or tired, she was happy in all shows and rides. We sat near an exit at Finding Nemo, Beauty and the Beast and American Adventure, but never had to leave early. She hated imagination at Epcot...the blast of air scared her.
-We rented a car as we stayed off site and it worked out well. I brought the car seat book so we'd know how to do the car seat without the base. It was nice to go to the store for baby supplies (formula, dipes, bottled water, wipes). At past trips, we often went out to eat each evening. This trip, we found ourselves picking up takeout as heading out with the baby is more of a chore.
-We stayed at an Embassy Suites...loved the extra room. After baby went to sleep, DH and I could watch tv in the other room without waking her.
-Single Rider was great on test track and EE. Quicker than baby swap or fast pass.
Let me know if you have any questions! We loved our trip and didn't want to come back home. No regrets. Baby won't remember but we have wonderful memories and pictures.
