Party size - 3 - me, hubby(about 12 visits) and hubby's cousin(first timer)
We are on dining plan(which seemed to tick off our waitress, but more on that later)
Our first night is at Le Cellier - we have been here many times and always liked it...until this trip - Cheddar cheese soup was delicious as usual. So was the bread basket. I ordered the "un"prime rib and so did cousin- hubby got the filet. This was the worst prime rib ever. It was about 1/4" thick and really fatty. If we weren't in a rush to see Illuminations we would have sent it back. Hubby's filet was very good. Dessert was the maple creme brulee which was just ok. A very disappointing dinner especially since we had built it up so much to our first time guest. Ok, now back to our waitress - she started off being not too friendly and just a bit sarcastic - Cousin has a great sense of humor and just "out" sarcasticed (is this a word?) her. Don't think we'll be back here anytime soon.
Day 2 - lunch at The Land - Sunshine Seasons - Very good meal here - I ordered the turkey and muenster sandwich and hubby got the vegetable cuban. Cousin got the pork sandwich - dessert was key lime pie (just ok) - glad to see this place still serves an above average meal.
Dinner at Kona - Great meals - Me and cuz got the shrimp and scallop combo with sticky rice. The shrimp were large and tasty - scallops also large and sweet. Hubby got the rib eye which was just wonderfully flavored and juicy. Desserts were kilauae tort, apple tart and banana creme brulee - let's just say our plates were clean.
