Quick question

DH and I are looking into buying into DVC. We want to buy 100 points at either Boardwalk or Beach club and another at Baylake towers or Grand Floridian. My question is if we bought 100 points (one monorail area and one boardwalk area) if we decide to use all 200 points at say Baylake one year is that possible or can we only use our 100 points if we are booking 11 months out? Thanks!

To make reservations 11 months out you may ONLY use home resort points.

So in your example 100 pts BCV & 100 pts BLT. The year you wanted to make a 200 pt reservation at BLT you would use the current year's 100 BLT points & borrow the next year's 100 BLT points. You can only use BLT points to book BLT at 11 months out, banked, current, or borrowed but all BLT.

You could then bank the 100 BCV points (so the following year you would get 200 BCV points to use.)

Obviously the totals never come out exact like that, this is just an example.

Otherwise like the post above said......only home resort points can be used 11 months out but if you mix the points you could book 7 months out. Depending on the time of the year 7 months works......busy times, not so much.

Think about it. If Disney let you combine points at 11 months, everyone would buy 25 points where they really wanted to stay and buy 200 points at the cheapest resort.

The only way to use the 11 month advantage is to buy enough points for your favorite resorts. Don't forget that you can buy half the required points for your stay and bank or borrow for stays every other year.

please take some time and look around in a lot of random threads. this kind of question gets asked a lot...if you are doing your homework by checking out other threads, you will find out these kinds of things without even asking...

Depending on how you put it together you won't save that much with the plan as stated. IF you plan to buy 100 at BLT or GF, I'd likely consider 200 at BLT or a fixed week at GF for closer to 200 points OR simply one BCV or BWV contract. There is a significant cost with going with multiple smaller contracts that will erase most of the benefits of have more options.
