Ok, this is totally messed up. I have a small computer issue and I come back to find out I am being DISsed? Over the course of the last 2 weeks I have learned a valuable lesson and Trina learned an even more important one. She left sometime in July with the kids (I know I should have paid attention when she told me she was leaving). She was going to Idaho or Utah or one of those northern states with sage brush (again, never talk to me during Baseball Tonight). I think she said she was going to be gone until August something. Anyway, after about 3 days of finding no one around the house I realized I was on my own. I figured I just had a bad schedule so I set stuff out like candy to see if the kids were really gone. So when I realized that I was Home Alone, I did what any guy would do, I started to accumulate some toys. Before long I had bought a bunch of parts to build a new computer. I had silicon strung from one end of the house to the other. Trina's kitchen looked like an explosion at the Dell factory. In the middle of all of this fun, the phone rang. I couldn't find the phone in the kitchen (I think it was in the bread box) so I answered it in the family room. I was getting static on that phone and found the wire had a short in it. So after the call I tore the cable apart and rewired it. Then I started wondering what kind of wire was in the wall so I took the jack off and found it was Cat 3 wire. Well I knew we should have Cat 5 (for what reason I have no idea) so I started punching holes in the wall and fishing wire in and out of the studs. While I was working on that I heard the toilet in the bathroom downstairs and it sounded like water running. So I went in to see what was up and found the float was not working correctly so I tore the tank off the toilet and took the float apart. Then I remembered that there was a set of pins I was interested in on eBay so I went to the living room and logged in. I bid on the pins then started surfing looking for Bobbleheads. I started wandering the Internet and soon found myself on a site selling network equipment. I bought a router for wireless 802.11g with speedbooster and I bought a router that would use Cat 5 phone cable using the second pair of wires in the phone jack (see I knew there was a reason I needed Cat 5 wire). So I bought those and started tearing out cables and cards from all the computer systems in the house. After tearing apart 4 computers I was on the fifth when I realized that I had not seen this computer in about 2 years and it was really out of date so I went to the store and got new memory, a video card, a sound car, and a new processor (just a minor overhaul). Oh I also got a new fan with purple LED lights the same shade as the Diamondbacks logo. In the middle of that I decided to turn on the DirecTV to see what was on ESPN. There was an ad for ESPN HD so I started messing with my receiver to see if I could pick up the new HDTV version. I found out that the dealer messed up my box so I decided I needed to recable and reconfigure it. So for the last 2 weeks I have had most of my house in pieces. Then I get a call on Sunday from Trina telling me that she is coming home. Not good since I had pretty much trashed the house in unfinished projects. I finally got things straightened up and put back together 10 minutes before she walked through the door. It was like a bad Cat in the Hat episode without Thing 1 and Thing 2.
