Quick MagicBand Tutorial

I've spent some time searching info on the MagicBands but I'm still pretty confused. I know I've come to the right place for help

1. A friend sold me her DVC points and booked me at AKL. She is setting up Magical Express for me as well. I did set up a MDE account and it shows my four days and my ADRs. Will we get magicbands if we "rented" from an owner? Are they free?

2. When will said MBs arrive? I don't think my friend has my mailing address...will they go to her instead?

3. Are they all grey in color?

4. What does "customize" mean?

5. Am I correct that I can pick my fastpasses at 60 days out if I've purchased tickets? I'm going to get our tickets from AAA prior to that.

6. I see some of the MBs on Ebay and Disneystore.com, I assume these will work just as well?

1. Yes, you will get MBs and they are free
2. You will confirm the shipping address when you finalize customization, they are put into system 30 days out, you usually receive them 2-3 weeks prior to your trip
3. Only if you don't customize
4. Customize is what you should be clicking to change the colors
5. You need to purchase and input your tickets into MDE before you can book your FP+
6. You don't need to buy them unless you want a special one, but they will also work as long as they are unopened

To add to linzbear's response, for your #6, there is a HUGE difference between EBay and disneystore.com.

The latter is fine, the former who knows? I'd never order a MB from EBay.

But as she said, no need to buy one because you will receive a complimentary one in the color you choose.

Thank you both for your help. Our trip is January 19th and its my daughter's surprise Xmas present. Is there any way to get them a few weeks earlier by chance?

Eh, if it's new in box then it's fine. It's not like tickets where you learn at the gate that they're used - MBs can be added beforehand and if they don't work ebay/paypal will side with you and you get your money back. Lots of people want the limited edition bands and that's the only way to get em.

You can always call and ask, but it's an automatic process that kicks off at 30 days prior.
