If you could go on a solo trip to DL on two days around July 4th, what two days would you go?

It can be either:

July 4-5
July 5-6
July 6-7

Which of those days would have the lowest comparative crowd, and is there anything that makes one set of days better than another?

I know it will be crowded, but it would be a solo trip with no expectations other than relaxing and hanging out. :thumbsup2

Thanks!

That's a toughie. It's summer and a holiday, so it's bound to be packed (thank Mickey for FastPass!). I would probably go on the 5th and 6th, since it's not on the holiday itself, and it's not a weekend.

I would say July 4-5 as we found July 4 the quietest day of our stay as all the APs are blacked out. But its hard to know whether that is the norm or not. Hate to advise you then find July 4 packed this year....

I won't be mad if it ends up more crowded than anyone expected for one of those days. Trying to guess the crowds is always a crap shoot, right? I've never been to DL around a holiday, and wasn't sure whether the holiday itself or the days following tend to be more crowded, especially if the holiday falls mid-week.

I've never been on July 4th, so I can't really say. My guess there is that Disney has some pretty great fireworks, so I thought maybe people would show up in the parks for them.

I have gone on Thanksgiving before. The first year was perfect. There was a fabulous Aladdin dinner show in DL, park attendance was very light, all the Christmas decorations were up. It was perfect! The 2nd time it was packed with long lines, so it was quite disappointing by comparison. Holidays really do seem to be a crap shoot.

:rotfl:
Good description, when we went in 2004 we had a five day pass and it was a crapshoot so we stayed away from Weekends and July, last year we had a 14 day pass and so went in most days and got a good idea of when it was busy and when it wasn't. We found the AP blackout days were the quieter ones, July 4 being blacked out for nearly all passes was the quietest. We found going in right on opening on those blackout days was the best, we did one EE going in at about 0715 which was a bust, as only FL was open it was crowded and there were lines (not long but way longer than 815 on a non EE day).

Holy cow! I checked on Fantasmic balcony seating, just for grins... and they had a spot open on July 4! I took that as a sign and grabbed it!

Way to go, be sure to let us know how you go as we will be back possibly 2009 about the same time of year, would love know about July 4 crowds incase we can't get 14 day pass again. 2009 is so far away....... still its a long way for us to come, kids started nagging about going back before we had even left LA....

the reson it was probley avalibuel is that it just came back and not alot knew about it yet, cool tho im doing it this trip I pray i get it..im gona have the hotel do it for me tho so i have a better chance to have it
