I know this sounds unreal, but I hate pizza and DS can't eat it (allergies) so I don't think I've ever ordered a take-out pizza. :rolleyes1

Just found out some cousins are in town and they are stopping by in 2 hours. I told them I would order some pizza and salad. The only people who will be eating it will be the two of them and my mom. My mom will only eat one piece, but if there are leftovers, I'm sure she'd enjoy another piece at dinner. My mom won't eat the salad either.

Looking at the menu online, they have a 16" medium, an 18" large, and a 24" extra large. It doesn't say how many it serves. This isn't deep dish, but it isn't super thin.

Is one large and a salad good enough? Should I get more? I really have no idea how many pieces the average adult would eat and aside from one or two leftover pieces for my mom, the rest would get thrown out if I order too much.

Unless the cousins are high school or college boys then the large will be enough. Any idea what they want on it?

In general, one medium pizza is enough to feed 2 - 3 people and one large pizza is enough to feed 3 - 4 people.

I'd say get a large or two mediums. If you go with two mediums, you can get two different types of toppings.

I would do two mediums so you can do one plain cheese and one with toppings. Most adults will eat 2-3 pieces, but leftover pizza is a good thing! And since your mom enjoys it, she can take it home.

One large would also be fine. I would probably do 2 salads, but I always fear of not having enough food for guests and would rather have too much than not enough.

They are in their 60's. They said pepperoni and one or two common veggies like onions, peppers, or mushrooms. Thanks!

Seriously Lisa, you need to get out more...:lmao:

When you order the pizza you can ask them how many does it feed.

Two mediums sounds good. I am a pizza fanatic and we always order two different types because my son likes meat and I don't like it at all. Offer them to take the rest home, I hate the idea of wasting it.

Enjoy!

Sounds like they would eat a supreme pizza (pepperoni, green pepper, onion, sausage). I would get two mediums, you can get one that is just pepperoni. One salad should be plenty. Do you have Little Caesars in your town?

With only two people eating plus a person eating one or two pieces, a 16 inch and salad should be enough unless it is super thin.

:rotfl2: I'll try!

I doubt they'll want the leftovers, but we'll see. They have a couple hour drive once they leave here and it's suppose to be close to 90 today. But I'll offer. My mom is 84 and just doesn't eat much.

My Mom lived 2 hours away and I brought home food from her house every weekend. It's just ONE of the many things I miss about her!:thumbsup2

Meanwhile, I have to go heat up my leftover pizza from last night....yum yum!:yay:

I order pizza every Sat for our classes at work. Most pizzas have 8 slices. Our formula is 2.33 slices per person.

So 3 people x 2.33 = 6.99, then divide that by 8 = .87 so that would be 1 pizza.

Now that wouldn't work at home tho, we always order xtra.

Thanks everyone! I ended up ordering one large pizza and a salad. Three huge pieces of pizza are leftover and plenty of salad. My mom is going to eat one piece for dinner and I'll freeze the other two for her. Everyone agreed it was very good pizza so it was all good.

Great!!

Had pizza for dinner tonight, too.... it's my favorite food!!

We always have to order one Hawaiian for DS. (Ham and pineapple.)

Pizza is good leftover, but best if reheated in oven, so it's crisp.

One medium does not serve 2-3 people in my house. We order each person a medium and then we have lunch the next day.

Lol yup I was shocked reading that too!! I eat 4-5 slices at a time. DH eats 6-7. Usually we order 2 larges and maybe gave 3-4 slices leftover for someone the next day.

One medium would be a snack in my house. Between my uncle and my son they'd eat that for breakfast! :lmao:
