I will be attempting my first Live dining review in 2 weeks. I've been inspired by MickeyNicki and her entertaining Live reviews. Plus who knows if I'll actually have the time to do one when we get home. As you might have guessed from the title, we will only be my husband and I. After much thought and deliberation, oh and my in-laws begging us to, we have decided to leave our 8 month old baby girl at home with her grandparents. This will be our anniversary trip where we hope to catch up on some much needed sleep and we also hope to enjoy food while it's still hot.

We will be staying at AKV from Nov 12th to the 18th, then at OKW from the 18th to the 20th. We will be on the DXDP for the first 6 nights, which means we will have 36TS credits and 24 snack credits. We are actually leaving on Thursday November 10th after DH gets home from work and we will be driving to Manchester, NH where we are flying from. I will also include the non Disney food, hey it's still vacation food after all.

Now for the introductions,

Me, Vicki (29) I am currently off on maternity leave until February 2012, but when I return to work I am an insurance agent for the Canadian government. I have been addicted to Disney since our Honeymoon trip back in 2009, and it's mostly due to the food. I'm a pretty picky eater, but will order anything and try it. I am a master picker... I will sit and pick out everything I don't like in a dish. But if I can help it, I order it without. Seafood and dessert are my favorites.

DH, Denis (28) He works as a mechanic. Although not addicted, he really enjoyed our Honeymoon trip (which was also his first). He was reluctant at first, thinking Disney was only for kids, but he really enjoyed himself. He is a meat and potatoes guy. He is not picky, but doesn't like anything weird (his words). Oh and he is a sauce guy, likes his steak smothered in BBQ sauce and eats everything with ketchup.

Here we are on our Honeymoon

So we had the DXDP on our last trip, and vowed to never do it again. But here we are again.... This time however, we only have 2 meals per day, so hopefully it will be better. All of our lunches are early around 11:30am and our dinners are late at around 8:30pm. With 8 to 9 hours between our meals, I`m hoping we won`t feel as full as the last time.

Here are our ADR`s and places I will be reviewing.

Dinner - Tony`s

Sunday November 13th:

Breakfast - Boma
Lunch - F&W snacks
Dinner - Coral Reef

Monday November 14th:

Tuesday November 15th:

Thursday November 17th;

Friday November 18th:

Saturday November 19th

**Here we will no longer have the dining plan and we will be heading to Universal Studios for the day. We will probably do a late afternoon dinner at one of the Citywalk restaurants. **

Then we have the Wishes dessert party that night.

So that`s the list. We`re also hoping to enjoy wonderful snacks along the way.

It sounds like a fun trip and you've got some great ADRs!! And please do include non-Disney food, I am an equal opportunity eater so I can't wait to see it all! Enjoy your childless trip (my sister and I just did this about a month ago as well and it was a blast) and I look forward to reading your reviews!!

The title cracked me up! I TOTALLY understand how you feel. I am a mom of 4 kids. Had 2 kids back to back...waited a few years, then 2 more kids back to back. Hot meals in our house for DH & I...well, they still dont happen on a regular basis :lmao:

Cant wait to hear your reviews :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great trip! Hope you have an amazing time! Lia is just adorable, what a cutie pie!

I am definitely subscribing! My husband and I are leaving Jan 18th for 7 days in the world on the DxDP without our 9 month old son. My parents also begged us not to take him :) Can't wait to hear your reviews we are eating at a lot of the same places!

:welcome: We will enjoy the childless trip, I'll just have to fight the urge to call every half hour.

Enjoy your trip. Sounds like fun. I love breakfast at Crystal Palace. Hope u will also.

We actually ate there on our honeymoon and I have to go again. I've been dreaming of those puffed french toast for 2 years.

OMG, you have your hands full, but I'm sure it's worth it. We're also hoping to have another really soon so they will be close in age. No hot meals for a while for us either.

Thanks, we're hoping it will be a great trip. Can't wait for all the food.

I can't wait for your reviews! Your little girl is soooo cute! :)

Aww thanks, glad to hear we're not the only ones who think she's cute.

At first I wanted our in-laws to come with us and the baby, but they suggested they stay with the baby. I think my mother-in-law is more excited for our trip than we are. You guys will have an awesome time.

Count me in! Your daughter is beautiful! Have fun! We've flown out of Manchester before-easy airport to get in and out of.

:welcome: Glad to hear Manchester is easy, this is only our second time flying so we're not used to airports yet.

Alright, it's time to get started. We left last night after DH got home from work. By the time we dropped off the baby it was 5:30 AT, which is 4:30 ET.
I was starving by the time we left, but didn't want to stop right away. So what's a girl to do, chomp a piece of gum and pretend it's yummy Disney food.

After 2 hours of driving, my stomach realized the gum wasn't food and we decided to stop. We didn't want to lose too much time so we stopped at Wendy's. Boring I know, but it did the job.

I got the Asiago ranch chicken burger and DH got the 1/4 burger with bacon and cheese.

So my burger was pretty spicy, which I like and DH said his burger was fine. Typical fast food, nothing to write home about. So that's it for now. I'm here and DH is snoring in the bed behind me.... seriously how can he sleep when I'm ready to get this show on the road. :yay:

I'm joining in ! Can't wait to read all about the yummy Disney food and non-Disney food too!

DH finally woke up at around 9:30am. We then wanted breakfast and spotted and Ihop just a few minutes from the hotel. I got the split decision breakfast and DH got the breakfast sampler.

SAM_0835.jpg

I thought everything was good, but there was powdered sugar on my french toast. It was ok, but down home no one puts sugar on their french toast.:confused3 DH really liked everything too.

Once we finished breakfast, we hit the road towards Manchester. Once we got to Manchester it was around lunch time, but we were still full from breakfast.

We ended up eating dinner at 5pm at Longhorn Steakhouse, because it was really close to our hotel and DH was in the mood for steak. (even though he will probably eat 5 or more steaks in Disney)

We started with the bread. It was honey multigrain and was ok. The bread itself was good, but the butter was cold and it was a fight to get it on the bread.

We then decided to share an appetizer and had the shrimp and lobster dip. This was ok, I guess I expect anything lobster to be really good, but this fell short a little. We still ate it all, but I wouldn't order it again.

SAM_0852.jpg

When then each got a caesar salad that came with our meal. We both really liked it, there wasn't too much dressing which is the way I like it.

Then came time for the entrees. DH had the T-bone with fries. He loved it all, the steak was perfectly cooked and he said the fries had some kind of seasoning that he really enjoyed.

SAM_0854.jpg

I had the filet stuffed with lobster and herb butter sauce. I had the macaroni and cheese as a side. This was really good too. The steak didn't disappoint, again it was cooked perfectly and the lobster and sauce was great with it. The macaroni was ok, it was really rich and I only ate about half.

The dessert menu looked great, but we were stuffed and passed on dessert. So tomorrow, will come the more interesting reviews..... DISNEY FOOD.:banana:

Powdered sugar on french toast must be an American thing! I though everyone ate it that way. :rotfl: You steak with lobster looks so good!
