Each trip, I say I'm going to the Ft Wilderness Campfire, but getting there seems a bit intimidating. We got as far as Trails End once, but we had to take a few buses, etc. I'm not sure we will be coming from our resort to go there. What is the easiest and quickest way from the AS Mo, and secondly, from the theme parks? Are we better off going to this when we start off in one of the parks? What is the best way back to the resort after? Thanks so much!

Since nobody else has answered, I'll try. We stay at the campground, so I promise I know a little! Some might say that you should take a bus to DTD, then catch a Ft W bus from there, but I would get to MK, then catch the boat over to Ft W (such a pretty ride!). Follow the path up past HDD/TE to the bus stop, and catch an internal bus to the campfire.

Now, we went to the campfire this past August, and it was fun, but, if I only had one night to do something at FW, I'd eat at Trail's End, then take the LATE wagon ride, since it stops down at the beach for you to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks (with piped in music!). To travel by horse through the swamp and trees late at night is really mystical.

Feel free to stop by the camping board with any other questions!

From All-Star Movies, you'd need to go to a theme park (or DTD) to catch a bus to Fort Wilderness. (MK is a boat)

For the All-Stars, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney-MGM Studios would be decent transfer points. Epcot would be okay, and DTD would be a last resort.

If you use MK or Studios for a connection point, you'll be up by Pioneer Hall, and the Settlement Depot. From there, you'd want to catch an "OUPOST ORANGE" bus. Speak with the driver, and they'll let you know which stop to get out for the Campfire.

If you use Animal Kingdom, Epcot, or DTD as a connection point, you'll be dropped off at the Outpost Depot. You'll want to board a "SETTLEMENT ORANGE" bus. Once again, speak with the driver, and they'll let you know when to exit for the campfire.

If you ever have any questions about how to get somewhere, just feel free to ask someone in Purple Pants! :)

That sounds wonderful! We are planning an afternoon/eve at FW on a non-park day. Where would we catch the wagon ride, and how much does it cost? I'm wondering if we could eat at Trail's End, go to the Campfire, and THEN the hay ride and fireworks? Is this doable? TIA!

We've only been in August, but at that time, you could eat at TE (leave plenty of time because they do NOT take ps's), go to the sing-a-long/campfire part, but you wouldn't be able to see the whole movie, because the wagon ride starts at 9. (DS wanted to do the exact same thing!) The movie is fun, but it really is "just" a movie, the singalong and smores making is the fun part, IMHO. Don't forget to leave travel time to get to the campfire and back. The wagon ride didn't take any reservations, we just walked up and paid our $$. Really fun!

DH has an issue with first going to a park (or DTD) then taking 2 more buses to get to the campfire. We were talking about possibly taking a boat from MK, but wouldn't MK be closed by the time the campfire is over? I guess this is a twofold question:
1) What is the most straightforward route (without 3 buses or boat + 2 buses)
2) What is the easiest way back to AS Movies?

Maybe I am just not getting it. Is the only way to get there by taking 3 separate legs of transport?
Thanks for clearing my confusion!
