quick dry clothing

Most of our vacation wardrobe currently consists of cotton t-shirts and shorts.

Do you think it's worth it to invest in some quick dry clothing? Any recommendations?

If you are traveling in the summer months I would invest in a few shirts and shorts that dry quickly.

I'm planning on bringing running outfits with. They're very quick drying and also allow great airflow.

Not sure what places are around you, but we usually hit the Izod outlet store near us for the "wicking" golf and tennis shirts. Not just for Disney, but we live in Texas, so summer months are unbearable in cotton shirts.

I know Walmart also stocks many of these at a reasonable price, usually in the sportswear section...Academy or other sports stores tend to stock them as well.

Thanks. I may check some things out. I just don't want to add too much to the vacation budget!

I found these shorts a couple of trips ago and loved them!

They're very lightweight and cool, quick-drying, and you can even wash them out in the sink at night - they'll be dry by morning! I had two pairs for that trip, and ended up wearing them (and none of my other shorts that I had brought) the entire trip. It was nice to have two pairs so I could "rotate" them, every other day.

Thanks for reminding me about Columbia! I had a pair years ago that I LOVED and they'd be perfect for our trip.

Try TJ Max/Marshalls if you have one close as they sell new stuff that's last years model from all sorts of vendors such as Under Armour, Nike, Champion and a "house" brand called Layer 8. I am a runner and have bought a lot from them and its great pricing.

Also search out your local GoodWill type stores I have also had good luck doing this.

I think its well worth it and plan on taking only dry shirts and socks when we go in August.

I live in Florida, about 4-5 years ago I switched to only buying dri fit shirts, last year I switched to only buying shorts with a quick drying material.I recently bought about 4-5 amphibian type shorts which are basically like surf boardshorts but with zippers and buttons so you can wear them in or out of the water, basically every surf brand has these type of shorts. These shorts are a bit more expensive but the dri fit t shirts can be found pretty cheaply anywhere,Wal Mart,Target,Old Navy for less than $10 or branded ones at Marshalls or TJ Maxx for a bit more,$10-$15.Pretty much all I wear that's not work related are those shorts and shirts and dri fit race shirts from races I've run.

I just bought two pair of shorts yesterday at Academy for $16 a piece. They are quick dry. You will want some for the water rides if nothing else.;)

I would definitely recommend it, especially if you're travelling in the summer/hotter & wetter months!

I wear a lot of lululemon, which is pricey, but lasts a long time and is super durable and fantastic! Between the water rides, the rain and the sweat, some moisture wicking, quick dry clothing is super important in Disney, especially shorts/pants or dresses, no one likes walking around in wet jean shorts for the entire day!

I don't know how many times my DD was wearing cotton/jean shorts that got wet and then the chafing ensued. Get some quick dry shorts and wear them on days you will do a Kali Water Rapids type ride.

If you invest in quick dry shorts, etc just remember to not wear cotton undergarments or the whole plan will be shot!

Or cotton socks and tennis shoes.

You're shorts will be dry as can be but you'll still squish elsewhere. :)
