Quick Disney Mug Question

We received our docs and inside we have a coupon for 3 free Mugs once we get on board. The docs say you can use it for free refills of soda, but no mention of beer. I thought I read somewhere on this board that the mugs can be used for free refills of beer? True or False?

The DH is a beer drinker.

True for soda, false for beer. There is a separate tall, glass beer mug that you can purchase for beer refills, but I do not believe they are free refills...I think it is more oz's of beer for a lesser price.

You can purchase the mug for $9.95 and then you get a 22oz refill for the price of a 16oz beer.....not a bad deal in my opinion since I am a beer drinker as well and prefer draft over bottles/cans......Andy

Sorry Jim.....no sticker for the beer mug, you have to pay for each refill....it wouldn't be Disney to just give it away, however, if they thought about it they could give it away and then as the old saying goes, the more you drink, the drunker you get and the more you spend.....could be very profitable in the end for DCL

Just wanted to add that they are in the process of changing over the beer mugs. We were on the 11/1 cruise and got one ESPN mug and one Disney Cruise Line mug.

I also saw people carrying around refillable coffee mugs. Don't know the price on those.

The Beer Mugs haven't been changed--they have had both mugs for at least the last 3 years. My DH has both mugs and on our last cruise (Oct 11th) they were running short of the DCL mugs and mostly had the ESPN mugs. They were expecting more of the DCL mugs though.

You are correct that you have to carry that darn mug around everywhere for the discount. My DH carried it with him almost everywhere on the ship (he's the beer drinker!) You will see a lot of people carrying around the glass beer mugs. It can be quite a money saver for the extra beverage.

The refillable soda mugs are the same type of insulated mug they sell and use at WDW for their soda program.

The styles change every so often but this is basically the size and shape of the mugs.
