We did the free dining this past week. It is a lot of food. We are a family of 4 -- myself, DH, DD6 and DS2. I scheduled a lot of buffets so DS could eat free and my kids tend to like the veggies and other offerings on the biffets.

The Really Good:

Liberty Tree Tavern -- everything was excellent except the flank steak. We did this prior to MNSSHP @ 4:10 and the characters were all dressed up too. Russell our server was awesome and great character interaction here.
They really took time with our kids instead of sign book, pose for picture, leave.

1900 Park Fair -- great variety of foods, esp. the prime rib, the turkey, and the desserts (Yum!) Very good character interaction here too.

Storybook Princess breakfast -- liked that they bring the food to your table. My kids ate everything except the potatoes. Good character interaction, esp. Snow White, who sounded like the "real" SW. The only low point was the waitress disappeared for a while because the table next to us had some error in their bill and it took quite a while to resolve and for her to show back up.

LeCellier -- great food -stuffed ourselves silly. Wait person was Taryn, who was not the most attentive though.

The good:

Crystal Palace -- We did lunch here and saw all of the characters early on. Most then made their way back around. Food was good, not as good as PF or LTT though.

Chef Mickey's -- did dinner here. Prime Rib was good. Pototoes were good. Everything else was average. Character interaction was awesome though.

The BAD!

Donald's Breakfastasaurus -- Good food variety but had to wait to check in in the blazing sun for about 20 minutes. No sytem like the pagers to let you know when your table was ready. You had to try to listen to too many softspoken CMs call your name. The whole check-in process was soooo disorganized and slow that it really turns you off. Once inside, there was very poor wait service on drinks and clearing dishes. Character interaction was just okay as well. Will not do this again.

I tried to make this short, but will be happy to answer any questions. We did a lot of our CS at the resort -- breakfast and lunch esp.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

Hi there! You seemed to write your reviews in order of how highly you rated them, so does this mean LTT was the top character meal for you?

Yes, to me that's how I'd rate them. DD, who is on a Cinderella kick (and LOVED the show in front of the castle, BTW), would rate 1900 Park Fair first. I liked that LTT was all you can eat (DH can eat!), the food was good, we got to sit and be served rather than go to the buffets, the character interaction here was the best w/1900 a close second. I also liked the ambience of the restaurant.

We also just returned and dined at Le Cellier. Our waitress was Taryn as well and we felt she was just awesome. She was the best server of the entire trip.
She was so very helpful with everything and refilled our drinks without us even having to ask her. The food was incredible as well-we will definitely go back and request Taryn :cool1: :cool1:

Just wondered if they were still pooling credits, getting ready to leave in 2 days!!

Yes, we did the dining plan -- the FREE dining. All credits are pooled on your card and receipt. There was no distinction b/w child or adult credits.

Lucky you, unlucky us. We had her on a night when she kept forgetting to bring items to the table or refill drinks. That's important when you have two small children and you want them to be happy so other diners can be happy. Once my kids FINALLY got some of the breadsticks, they were happy campers!

So sorry for your bad experience with Taryn. on the night we were there I had to take my 7 year old daughter to the bathroom and we had just received our Chedder Cheese soup. Needless to say our soup got cold on our long trip to the bathroom and Taryn brought us fresh bowls of soup.

Great reviews! Which characters did you have at the PSB?

Mulan, Jasmine, Snow White, Belle and Sleeping Beauty.

We had a good server at Le Cellier--she certainly did her job about as well as other servers at other restaurants. Biggest problem there was late seating and a tired and hungry kid. The food was decent (my steak was very good, lobster was average, shrimp cocktail not very interesting, cheese plate pretty good, apple cobbler pretty good) but I had pretty high expectations. It was a $120 meal. Locally I can go to a seafood place 10 minutes from me and have a better meal for a little more than half that price. I find the whole "Canada is exotic" schtik by some of the staff there annoying.

Based on their fast food I will definitely check out the Morrocan place next time.

I always loved the Akershus food but I am not sure I can go there now that their buffet is abbreviated and they have princesses.
