I have never ate at a quick service location (never been to disney:eek:)

I have no idea what to expect. I tried searching but I cannot tell if it is quick dining or regular.

My dh is 6'3 and I have three hungry kids, I cannot figure out if it will be enough food.

I would love to see photos of the food you get with quick dining. Does anyone have a link?

We are staying at CBR I would love to see what the quick dining food is like there.

I tried searching and now my head :headache: is pounding from scrolling and reading so much. I am begging for help:hug:

What do you compare it too? I am envisioning applebee's in my head, but without the table service.

Thanks so much

p.s. I did look at the menu's of some of them, but I really would like to see some examples.

You can compare quick service to McDonalds or Burger King. The food is just a bit better in quality, but around the same prices, and you get up and get it yourself like you do in fast food at home. Portions are just average. My DH is small and he finds it adequate, but will be hungry again around 2-3 hours later.

Here is a link with pictures.

You are the best! Thank you for providing that link for me.... I have wasted so much time trying to find something like that!

I will be checking it out after the kids are in bed and enjoy a glass of wine while reading (I have to get rid of this headache!)

You didn't say what age your children are - the kid's meals at Disney are actually fairly small and of very low quality across the board, so if your kids are big eaters or at all selective about what they eat you might have a problem.

Also, while Disney does offer a decent selection outside burgers and pizza, the actual quick service burgers and pizza they do serve are pretty darn bad - you might want to steer clear of those...

Just my .02 :hippie:

oops... they are 2 (she will have to share with us) four and six (off the charts big boys).
Thanks for letting me know I will talk them into ordering something else. I am thinking I will probably have to share my food with them:goodvibes

Actually, my sister and I usually share a CS meal and we are big eaters! I love places like Pecos Bills and Cosmic Rays (both at MK) that have a burger fixings bar. Yummo :)

Yeah, you'll probably need to share with them or get them something off the adult menu. Steer clear of the kids chicken nuggets too - they're different than the ones served on the adults menu. The kiddo I traveled with (niece, 7 at the time) is a chicken fanatic and wouldn't touch the kids nuggets - after we tasted them we couldn't blame her!

The Electric Umbrella (Epcot), PizzaFarri (AK), Cosmic Ray's (MK) or Pecos Bills (MK), Pizza Planet (HS)..there are lots of them, all have the same sort of things on the menu! All give you ample portions...me and my DD15 share portions...even after all that walking...we are usually very hungry...it's a lot of food!!!!!
Chicken Fingers, Hamburgers, Pizza...all served with fries or a side salad or something like that...and they all come with dessert if you are on the DDP...HTH

Sorry, I don't have photos, but there are entire "food porn" photos you can find on this site and several others. We don't do TS meals at Disney because we don't like to give up that much touring time, we don't like being tied to reservations, and we don't like the prices...yikes! We did go with the QSDP for our first trip and thought it was a good deal. While some of the food was just O.K., we found most of it to be a cut above fast food.

We stayed at CSR and their Pepper Market had good (somewhat pricey) food. On QSDP, it becomes much more of a bargain. The places mentioned by texasteacher35 (above my post) are all places we liked. The portion sizes are ample, and two people could really share some meals. On QSDP, you also have dessert all the time, and we wound up taking packaged desserts back to our room for breakfast, or using them as snacks later in the day.

There were meals at places like Sunshine Seasons in Epcot that were excellent, so I would definitely classify them as being better than typical fast food. Also, The Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney have great food for reasonable prices (considered CS meals on the dining plans).

If I were you, I would go to allears.net and glance over some menus before you go. That way you can try to vary your meal choices so you're not eating burgers and pizza everyday. There is variety at Disney, but if you're not sure which place serves what it's easy to find yourself with the same options over and over.

The best advice is to go to allears.net . You can look up menus, find ratings for both table service and counter/quick service restaurants, and there's a section where you can see photos of the inside of restaurants (I know you can see the inside of the ts rest., not sure about the quick service). You could also look in books like The Unofficial Guide to Disney. It has a huge section on ts and quick service meals. It includes average ratings people have given it and a low-down on food items they have. You can find the book at any book store, and some people say they've found it at their local library. As far as portions go, we've always found the portions to be pretty large for the counter service meals. I know that could vary by who you ask, though. Some places are limited by the options they have, while others, such as Cosmic Rays in MK, have a ton of options. Exploring the restaurant site (menus and ratings) will help you narrow down which rest. has the best options for you and your family. Have fun planning!

No problem! :thumbsup2

By the way, here are some other links to food porn.....(but these are not organized like the 1st link I gave you. You would have to look at all the pages)

These are closed threads, but worth a look:

This is the current food porn thread (still open):

Here are pictures of the restaurants inside:

Good luck!

If you think the portions are too small, you should consider the dining plan with some Table service in there. There are pics of all the places, CS or TS in all the links I gave you.
