Quick digital camera question before heading to WDW!!!

DH just bought the family a digital camera for Christmas! Great surprise


What do you do with your digital camera and equipment (taking the camera dock to recharge the batteries, etc...) when flying? Can the camera and memory card go through the x-ray machines or is it questionable like 35mm film is???

It should be fine going through Xrays.

I would at least carry the memory cards with you on the plane so they don't get lost if your luggage does.

No problem at all with security checks and digital. Just have it packed so if they want to hand check, (and they almost always do mine) that they can look through the bag fairly easily. Enjoy and looking forward to seeing some pictures in the coming weeks.

It'll be fine in carryon, but *don't* put it through checked.

I carry mine on as well... mostly so I can get pictures up from the plane if I want to and that way if my baggage is lost then I still have something to take pics with. I guess Dan must look suspicious because I have never had my camera stuff checked either

I requested our camera bag be hand checked on the way back from WDW, as the 'security checkpoint' is the only place on the way to WDW where I did not have complete control of my bag and somehow the LCD screen on my digital ended up being destroyed.

I know it didn't happen when I was holding it, and I really *don't* know if that's when it happened, but it'll always be hand checked in front of me from now on.
