Took the wife, daughter and lil Grandtinker to DL for the first time. Quick thoughts
1. Flights were straight through from STL to LAX and back. No problems either way. Flew out Friday morning. Flew home Monday morning.
2. Used Midwill ($130 each way + tip) to get back and forth. Easy Peasy. Rode in a newer shuttle bus both ways. Grandtinker had booster seat.
3. arrived at about noon at GCH where we were staying. Ate at Craftsman's grill. Worked well.
4. Swam all afternoon with the lil tinker. Water was cold compared to WDW pools. Didn't bother her at all. The one hot tub we were in was the best hot tub on any Disney property. Big, hot and bubbles everywhere.
5.Dinner was in Storytellers. Was just OK.
6. Saturday was DL in the morning and CA in the afternoon. Rode most rides we wanted too with genie +. Did WOC desert party and enjoyed it but the registration was totally unorganized. Got high top table 17. Was great view and great show. Really liked it.
7. Sunday was CA morning and DL in evening. Rode evertything we wanted except Haunted Mansion. Lines were just too long including genie + which we had but didn't use. Did have to purchase RCR due to it not starting up on time.
8. Ate at Smokejumpers and had ice cream at Salt and Straw. Smokejumpers was good park food. S&S was great ice cream.
Overall a great trip. Loved the GCH and it just might have topped my Disney hotel list above WL, Riv and Contemporary TPV.
Was very busy but genie plus and early entry allowed us to ride everything once except Hauntend Mansion.
Grantinker had a blast and we all loved Luigis and RCR's. Had a great ride on Grizzly as well. Water was cold! Same for Splash and I sat front row and just got totally soaked.
Only thing that we could complain about was not having magic bands which we are used too. Don't like having to get into wallet everytime we parked hopped or went into any park.
Will do DL again and think a long weekend is perfect getaway (WDW takes a full week IMO)
