Quick breakfast?

We'll be staying at the DLH and doing EE our very first morning (a Thursday). Since we need to get to the park bright and early, I don't want to worry about breakfast. We'll be coming down from LAX the evening before. Is there an easy stop on our way from the airport to pick up some breakfast items (cereal or muffins or Pop-tarts or fruit)? I don't want to waste any time that EE morning, but I need to get something in my family's tummies before we head out. We want to get as much in during EE and when the park first opens, so we don't want empty stomachs (but no huge feast, either). Any suggestions? Thanks!:flower3:

I pack things like granola bars in my luggage, then we have something to eat quick in the am. Also, DLH has a little shop that has milk and maybe small cereal. Pop tarts you can pack also. I figure the space I use for food, (ok and water and wine) will then be free on the trip home for stuff we buy.

I am planning my families first trip to DL and we are doing 2 things....

  • I am taking a decent size tupperware type container (but not expensive) and taking go-tarts and cereal bars... my kids are very particular about the flavors they like and I would hate not being able to find the right ones... like LLS I plan to use the extra space on the return ;)
  • We are ordering delivery from Albertsons for the day we get in (we arrive at 1 and are planning a delivery around 7:30 pm.... my understanding is that they will deliver up to 9pm... I will be ordering bottled water, milk, juice boxes, and some snackie items.

If I have the Albertson's info wrong please let me know!

Have a blast!!

Make muffins ahead of time and freeze them. Then thaw them out the day before and take them with you to eat while you wait for the park to open. This worked great for us in December and right now at WDW.

Good tips! I always bring plenty of food on driving trips but it never occurred to me to bring food on an airplane trip. That will make things so much easier.

I think we'll also keep our eyes open for a mini-mart en route from the airport so we can pick up some water bottles and milk. I like the Albertson's delivery idea, but I don't know if I want to commit to being in our room at a certain time when there's the whole wonderful world of Disney waiting for us to explore! Can't wait!

Sorry to highjack your thread here, but...

We are considering flying for the first time ever this year, to DL anyway! I have a plan to pack waters in our checked luggage and will bring our snacks in the carry-on but how can I pack soda's? Is this doable? I'm afraid of them exploding in our luggage, could we check like a soft sided cooler?

The TSA website says, "Avoid packing food and drink items in checked baggage." Therefore, I don't think I'd go overboard with the beverages. You don't want to be held up in security for having a bunch of soft drinks in your suitcase! Plus, I think I'd worry about carbonated beverages leaking out onto all my clothing!

Have fun!:)

Just thought I'd add that we used Albertson's delivery about two weeks ago and had them deliver our delivery to Bell Services. We were at Grand Californian and I checked with them a few days prior to make sure we could have Bell Services accept the delivery for us. Bell Services just stored it for us until we called down to see if it had arrived. They even offered to bring it up to the room to us (we'd been planning to go down to get it). We had nothing that needed to be refrigerated, which I would recommend; I doubt they would refrigerate items while in storage.

One note: When our delivery came, it was just in a bunch of separate plastic grocery bags! I'd expected that they'd at least have put all of the items in a box to deliver! :confused3 I am going to request a box in the "comments" section next time I order!

Hope this helps!

Happy travels! :goodvibes
