Quick before the mall closes!

I'm confused. I was told that new pins (since the 100 year pins) weren't going to be released until January 5th. Yet dizpins.com has the set starting December 29th (this past week) I called my DS and they said there weren't going to be new pins out until the 5th. Maybe they misunderstood me. Were there pins in fact released on the 29th? Or are the three pins listed at dizpins the ones that aren't supposed to be released until the 5th?

I'm so confused and need traders for my trip coming up in 28 days!!!!

There seems to be a lot of confusion when these pins are to be put out. The directions to the DS managers is kind of ambiguous, so some are putting them out right away, and some are waiting.

My store here in the Detroit area hasn't put them out yet either, but I've read lots of posts here on the DIS of people who have been able to get them.

In the end, it looks like it really is up to your stores management. Oh well, I can wait...

I thought something exciting was going on and I missed it!
The nearest TDS was not going to put the pins out until 01/05/02, as they said their memo read. But last Friday, the 28th, they said they had just rec'd a memo that day that the eight pins could be put out for sale. And they did 12/28/01.
There must be LOTS or memos flying around the stores, as every store seems to have a different understanding.

Thanks everyone. It seems like there is some confusion even among the Disney folks as to the release of these pins. I spoke with the store manager at my local DS and she said they were not going to release the pins until Saturday, so I'm trusting her. They know me pretty well and it is sad when you have the DS's number on your speed dial!

One of our overseas pals is interested in these. So I ran to TDS today to buy a few as traders.
I think this store still had all of the original eight styles. Some were starting to get a little low.
The mgr said they weren't expecting the lines like the YoD series. She is under the impression these pins will be restocked in the stores that sell them well.
There will be more of different styles put out Saturday. But I will be in Orlando! To bad I can't get a sneak preview Friday night.

Our store (Taunton, MA) manager received the same memo as everyone else, regarding the release of the new pins. It stated that they were to be put out for sale on January 5th. This is what she told anyone of us who called. She then received a second memo, telling her that the pins could be put out as soon as they arrived. She chose to stand by her original statement because she felt it would be unfair to all the dyehard regulars who had waited, faithfully, for all those Saturday morning releases. Kudos to her for her integrity and fairness. Thanks, Nicki!!!

Many of the store managers in my area are releasing 1/2 of their stock of the 1st 8 pins when they receive them, and keeping the remaining 1/2 for the 5th -- that way they are covered on both ends.

Stores seem to have gotten a better supply of at least the 1st 8 -- 24 at least of each.

The birthstone poohs are cute as are the New Years pins!

And I LOVE the color in the Atlantis poster pin.

But I REFUSE to stand in line again for these pins .

Hey Jan,
Does that mean all the stores in our district will have all 14 pins on Sat.?? Including the Great Northern store???
Planning on going, but only looking for any fab 5 character pins out of anything they will have coming in over the next year. Oh, and of course any with Cinderella

I never did get the one and only one of the 100 pins set. My DD wanted the Pluto's Christmas tree one.

Oh well.

We did make it there the day the Pluto pin was released......but....we thought the mall opened at 9 that weekend......it opened at 8!! So we missed it.
