Quick baggage ?

I have heard that some airlines are now charging for carry-on luggage. We are leaving later tonight, and flying out early tomorrow morning. I was planning on doing carry-on only, but if I will be charged anyway, I will just check the bags. Does American Airlines charge for carry-ons? I looked on their website, and the only charges I see for baggage is the checked bags, but I could be missing it, or maybe the website is not updated. If anyone has knowledge about this I would appreciate the help! Thanks!

No, only Spirit has started this nonsense. Congress was threatening to clamp down if other airlines followed suit, so they said they would not.

I am making a last minute, very budget trip with just me and DS16, so I am glad we won't be paying extra for baggage! Thanks!
