Quick Annual Pass Question

Thinking of upgrading to the preferred pass for the free parking, if I upgrade the pass, will I have to pay for parking the next time I go or will the barcode on my current pass say preferred

(We recently upgraded our pass to annual (we had a 2 day park pass) for just 20$ to the power pass. The hulk, dragon challenge, harry potter ride, HRRR, and the mummy are all just too much fun not to keep going when we only live an hour away)

If you currently have a Power Pass, it does not include parking. When you upgrade to the Preferred you will get free parking but not until you activate the new pass. You would have to pay for parking unless someone can drop you off so you can activate the passes before parking.

First question is where are you going to upgrade the pass?
If you go to GS at either park, theyll be able to do that for you right there.The time after that parking will be free, since at the time you upgrade,wont have a PA.They should print a new pass right there for you.

I thought I would be able to upgrade over the phone

You can but you would still need to activate the new pass at the gates. That's when your time starts...not when you upgrade.

Ah ok, I figured since my power pass is already activated, it would use the same barcode, so that when I show it at the parking they can just scan the power pass and it show up as preferred in the compute

No...you would get a whole different pass.

My friends went with myself about a week and half ago, can they upgrade their tickets that they used to annual passes? Or has too much time elapsed. Thanks

No problem...we are here to help.

I think they could upgrade but it would probably be prorated so they would pay what ever the difference is. If not, they would have to purchase new APs.

If you upgrade over the phone your parking should be free. If they scan the pass they should be able to see that it has been upgraded. If you do end up paying for parking, go to Guest Services and they will reimburse you once they scan the pass and see that it has already been upgraded. You will then get a new pass there at GS also.

What is the renewal rate for the Power pass? Is it the same amount?

And, can I upgrade my power pass (which has flexpay right now) to preferred flex pay? Or will I be required to pay out the difference.

The only way to upgrade a flexpay AP is to pay off the contract first.

I don't think there is a renewal for the Power Pass. Just upgrade to the Preferred for the discounts and free parking.
